Poor service

I had been a regular customer of wicked and over the years I have seen the service gone down tremendously. For the past few months I have seen over and over again new staffs in the cafe, some of which have terrible manners, and some are just fine. As for drinks, i felt that it had become quite inconsistant, and I don't always get a great cup of coffee like how i used to before. The food is quite mediocre. The other day a staff rushed through a tuna sandwich which I've ordered, not microwaving it long enough, leaving the entire center of the sandwich still freezing cold. I will most likely not go back there again, I'd rather go to Artigiano or Elysian which seemed to take their customers and coffee a lot more serious.

Bad service and impolite employees

I have been a regular costumer of this coffee house for the past couple of months and been experiencing, along with my wife and friends, some impolite treatment from their employees this last weeks.
We choose this place because it serves very good coffee, maybe some of the best in Vancouver, which is quite important for us, specially coming form Europe.
Unfortunately the employees are becoming more and more unfriendly and even rude in some circumstances.
One of the last episodes was this morning after asking for a double espresso. We were given a short, supposedly double, espresso and when been asked why it couldn’t be a long one the answer was that the machine couldn’t give long espressos and if we wanted we could had some water. I don’t know what kind of special espresso machine Wicked Café has but if I can do a long double espresso with my simple espresso machine back at our apartment, just around the corner, I am sure that it is also possible to do it with a fancy machine that they have. And suggesting adding water to the coffee isn't really very cleaver is it?
Apart from that there is no such thing as a courtesy smile from the employees and we are treated with a snob look, I am not sure why. We aren’t impolite in our remarks and shouldn’t be treated like this.
I am sure that the fact that this is a different coffee house, with good coffee, doesn’t imply bad service or treating costumers like they are doing us a favour by serving us.
This king of situation has been experienced by at least two more friends and it’s getting more and more frequent giving a really bad impression which will probably lead us to end our visits to the Wicked.

Icky Crowd, Average Food, Great Drinks

I have been going to this cafe for the past few years, one or two times every two weeks, out of convenience. Before I list some of Wicked's drawbacks, I must state that the owners and baristas take their tea and coffee very seriously. I respect this and am a loyal customer because of this.

However...the crowd always seems to be comprised of curt business people, haughty hipsters and tech geeks. Weird! There are also the regulars who simply lounge around because of the free wi-fi. The food is very average: dry muffins, tiny selection of cakes/pies and dry waffles. Why waffles anyway? One more peeve...they only put out cream and skim milk for their beverages. This is bad for tea drinkers, and I like 3% for my coffee.

This cafe could be so much better, and should be more than simply "convenient". If they obtained some good baking (see Solly's and Grounds of Coffee for some hints, guys) and changed a few little things, it could be outstanding. Oh ya, fewer douchebag customers would help too.
