Bakery cafe offering sandwiches, pastas, baked goods and drinks.
I met up with a couple of friends for an afternoon bite. We had decided to head over the Milestones before deciding to just stop by here instead and save the patio lounging for another day.
I didn't take specific notice but there is a bar that occupies the other half of the space. The half we went to had the usual cafe picks: sandwiches, reheatable meals and pastries. All of us decided on the paninis and bottled sodas. The sandwiches were pretty subpar, comparable to the stuff you'd find at the gas station or your corner store. The toasted ciabatta was crusty and dry, like breadcrumbs. Luckily there was enough mayo to soften up the inside otherwise it would've made my throat raw. Decent amount of chicken pieces in my chicken club, though the bacon was stringy and not crisp. The other choices available didn't look much better.
This establishment is entirely self-service. It's also on Denman street, where there are plenty of other better options for a sandwich type meal (donair, shawarma). The bread makes the sandwich, and the bread they use here doesn't seem to keep well. I'd rather get the sandwiches at the 7-11 across the street. This is a near last resort option.
