Burgers, fries and shakes. Located on Davie at Thurlow.
There's nothing fancy or offbeat about Urban Burger. It's a basic hambuger, chicken burger (or veggie burger) served with fries and a softdrink or a milkshake.
But they do it well. The burger seems to be fresh (not frozen), the bun lightly toasted, and all made to order.
The service and ambiance are as you might expect at a diner, prompt and efficient.
I decided to try Urban Burger and heard what people said about this place. I found the service friendly and my food arrived quickly. I found the place to be clean but few tables and alot of counter space to eat on stools.
My cheese burger came with fries and my choice of soft drink. I found the burger to be greasy, the patty was smaller than the bun, and as I took my first bite, I was eating bread. The fries were good, but took a napkin to remove the grease, only to eat a few bites.
I wish I had eaten at Vera's across the street, or fat burger or even Wendy's. Glad I tried Urban, but its not my type of burger place.
Good formula for a burger joint. Streamlined burger menu with basic toppings, fries and soda options.
The burgers are tasty, simple but satisfying.
The fries could use some improvement - they seem almost soggy. Could be just me - I prefer my fries crispy.
The service is friendly and very prompt.
Good value, especially if you order the Combo $5.99 and you get a burger, fries and soda.
Ambience? It's a burger joint! The place is spacious and clean.
This is our default choice for burgers on Davie.
You`d think finding a great burger in Vancouver would be easy... NOT... but I was really IMPRESSESD with the new URBAN BURGER. For $5.99 I had the best burger, fries and drink combo I have ever had here. The hamburger was charbroiled nicely with fresh cut fried and a good size drink. I like the simple, industrial style ambiance and the service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend it for a fast food alternative to the large chains.
As for when it comes to burgers, they are not supposed to be extremely intricate and expensive, just a burger, with lettuce, tomato and like that. This place is great, and you will like it the more you go. The only downside is that sometimes everything tends to be a bit on the cold side, but most of the time this isnt true. I am heading there right now infact, and if I need to change this review I will, but as far as im concerned, its a great place, hence why I am going there right now.
Quite frankly the best burger I have had, aside from my own b.b.q. Well, actually it might even rival that. These guys deserve success for a simple but great idea: high quality ingredients cooked with a flame and served up with a smile. I'll be back, again and again. Ambiance is fine (it's a burger place!). Value is indicated by the quality of the finished product. Well done!
I love Urban Burger! The Burgers are fresh, and flame grilled. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The kitchen is exposed so you can see what they are doing. The owner works side by side with the staff to make sure everything is done properly.
I like the Urban Burger combo - Burger, Fries, and drink for just over $5.00 at the time of this posting anyway... I like to make it my weekend or after work dinner or lunch.
I recently tried Urban Burger for the first time. When I walked in, there were two uniformed police officers happily munching away... if these guys don't know where to get decent fast food in this town, who does?
While service could have been a bit more organized (part of my takeout order was initially missed in the hand-off of the order from one employee to another), both very friendly and polite.
The fries more than met my expectations. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more toppings for the burgers, but the swiss/bacon version I had was juicy and flavourful and the bun was perfect.
I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.
My 4th trip to Urban Burger was as expected - a wonderful food experience. I am a burger guy and usually heap my praises on Moderne Burger on Broadway but this new addition to the burger scene means I'll seldom leave downtown to get a good burger.
Burgers are large, high quality and cooked to perfection (they even use a thermometer) and the fries are always fresh and flavourfull.
I had a great experience here the burger was great, no fatty residue on my teeth or palate afterwards, tasty seasoning, fresh cut tomato, onion, lettuce and crispy fries. Friendly and clean (okay it is still very) environment to enjoy a good burger.
They have this 'branding' device to brand the logo into the top of the bun, pretty neat.
wow all they have is mushroom, swiss, cheddar and bacon for a place that all they serve is burgers its kind of said and my burger looked like it was flatened by a frying pan my fries where ok but only little pieces non more than two inches long.
They best get better toppings like maybe blue cheese and a few other types of cheese if they expect to be around in a year with Vera's only 50 feet down the street and Hambuger mary's in the next
block.I wonder why they made the kitchen so big and the seating area so small??????
Good solid burger... just the way I like it.... Indeed, Simply Delicious Simple Fare. I dont have to stare at the menu for 5 mins to find out what is this and that. If I want to have a fancy gourmet burger I go have a DB Burger, or Fennie Burger. But I just want a simple burger nothing fancy.
