They're busy for a reason
By Bonka of Vancouver (464 Reviews)
Submitted Saturday, January 2, 2010 - 4:48am [Dine in]

This little jem does what they do fairly well. I don't find their pizza amazing, but for a "by-the-slice" outfit, it delivers on a good slice of pizza with a generous amount of toppings for peanuts. The crust can get a little inconsistent but they run those toppings right to the edge, so crust lovers like me are put out. Until last night, I hadn't come here in a long while and little has changed in their pies, though the slices appear smaller and the prices have crept up.

Service is hardly worth mentioning, but you ought to know what you want or move away from the line, it's tight in there and many are regulars.

This is strictly a takeout place, hence the abundance of waste outside their premises.

Loyal Fatih followers aside, their pizza is better than the norm here, and there are plenty of them out there to pick apart.

horrible service

Submitted Thursday, September 15, 2011 - 7:02pm [Delivery]

I tried to like this pizza place, thinking that it's popular for a reason. The first time I ordered the service was great, I appreciated how they called me after I placed an order online to reconfirm and the man was friendly. The pizza itself was ok, I've had better though. The second time I ordered, wanting to give the pizza another chance the website wouldn't accept my order for some reason so I called in instead. The man who picked up was adrupt and failed to ask what time I wanted my pizza and whether it was delivery or pick up. When I first tried the delivery option online it stated that they cannot deliver to my address so it didn't occur to me that I should ask when calling in. It would've been his responsibility to ask me anyways. I got to ufc and after the same man who had taken my order flipped through all of his order forms he informed me that it was being delivered to my house as we speak. I asked him why he had assumed I wanted delivery and he said that it was because I had mentioned that I had first tried the website when I called inm as if it was my fault. I started to tell him that the website said it delivery service was not offered for my area and he interrupted saying that it's on it's way and to 'go home'. No apology, no smile, he interrupted me, AND I managed to arrive home 5 minutes before the pizza arrived. It was lukewarm. Bad attitude for lukewarm pizza. I have no reason to ever return.

Potato Pizza
By epicurious of Burnaby, BC (507 Reviews)
Submitted Tuesday, March 24, 2009 - 2:53pm [Dine in]

Eversince having a slice of their potato pizza, I've been hooked! Of the 3 kinds I've had here (potato, blue cheese and hawaiian), the potato wins hands down. It's unfortunate for the other flavors because, eventhough they are all delicious, if there's no potato left, I'd rather leave empty handed.

I say it's a good deal for a cheap meal and good sized slices.

Unless you're travelling by foot, it's a little tough to stop by if the nearby parking spots are taken or unavailable. Also, the customer area is pretty small and cramped. Between all the ppl lining up for slices, and ppl at the stools, it feels claustrophobic.

Loads of toppings

Been visiting this place since I went to UBC. It's one of the better places for pizza slices. It's nothing like an authentic pizza restaurant, but it's more than enough for the price you pay for a slice. I still stop by once in a while when I'm in the area.

So many choices to choose from. I like the potatoe one and the vegi ones the best. Loads of toppins compared to Freshslice Pizza. Portion size does seem like it has gotten smaller, and prices has gone up over time. Still the amount of toppings is what brings me back compared to the other pizza places near by.

Ambiance isn't good. Usually no place to eat inside as seats are limited. Sometimes it's dirty too. End up having to eat and walk at the same time with my pizza slices. Lots of immigrants working there.

Service is okay. They just give you what you want. Helps to point to the pizza slice that you want though. They upsell pop and slice combo occassionally.

... is Awesome!
Never get it by the slice. But get the whole pizza. You see, when I was kid (ok, 4 years ago)... ... the small pizza was $3.50, no HST included back then. And I am telling you that small pizza was the next best thing to sliced escargot. Now, I think it is like $5 or so, double check that. It was greasy, but man, the flavor was amazing! There is stiff competition in the pizza market, so this place is awesome.

Best Slice Pizza

This is one of those places that I think is great but only at certain times.
For instance, dont try to eat in, because their really isnt much room.
Second, I never get delivery because it's one of those pizzas where it tastes ten times better fresh.
This place is great to go to for slice pizza. When you're on the run with friends see a cheap film at the Rio and the cross the street and grab a slice.
Now the thing that makes this pizza special is simply the wide variety of toppings to choose from. Some may seem bizzare but all are delicious.
My personal fav is broccoli-potato and pineapple with ranch drizzle on top of the cheese. delicous.
The place doesnt look that nice, and the service varies but the topping range as well as the great prices and deals make this a great place to go when you're on the run and craving a slice.

I've been here numerous times to grab something to go. Like many of the reviews before, the service isn't that great but I've never really had a problem with it. The staff here don't smile or greet, but they get your orders quickly and the food totally makes up for it.

This place is tiny, so just assume you probably won't have a spot to sit and enjoy your pizza. It does get quite stuffy sometimes. They have a couple of seats outside too.

The pizza itself is delicious. It's probably my favourite pizza joint in all of Vancouver. The toppings are great and fresh, they don't overdo it either. The crust is never too hard or soggy from tomato sauce. It's not super greasy like some other places. I've never had a burnt slice. And the veggie slices always look so colourful! One slice kills my hunger, and two just makes me absolutely stuffed.

It's 1.75 a slice, pretty awesome. I think they have a deal for two slices and a soda too. Awesome place to get food on the go!

Overhyped Pizza

I don't understand why almost everybody in the city seems to think this pizza is so great. It tastes the same as any other megabite or $1.50 joint you can find in the city. I think its the vibe of it being an independent pizzeria, its like everyone who patrons the store thinks its the equivalent of donating to Africa.
The ambiance is what you would expect of any cheap pizzeria in the city.
It tastes better then Domino's though. I'll give it that.

This is my go-to place when i need a quick bite. Uncle Fatih has an awesome variety of pizza. My favorite is the Beef and Blue Cheese - Delicious all over.. Heck, i'm drooling about it right now. However, a quick word about their delivery. I personally say don't go for it. It's a pizza joint for a reason, you go in and eat it fresh. There are new pizza out on the counter every 5 mins when its busy. So i say its a lot better to go in person than through the phone. Also! some of the items in the store that aren't in the menu. So theres another reason to go in person. I think i'm going to go get some right now...

First of all, the name of this place is Uncle Fateh's, not Uncle Faith's. More important, though, is that I have eaten here twice, and both times the crust was gummy (undercooked). Maybe they hurry things when they are busy, I don't know. What I do know is that twice is enough.

Best Pizza In Town!

Though the place is small and is super cramped, you're not coming here for the decor. The pizza here is amazing with pizza constantly coming out that allows you have a huge variety.

The pizza is fresh and the ingredients are good. The price is very competitive and for a large pizza, it will cost you 14.50 if you pick out 8 slices.

This is the pizza place that I try to hit up as much as possible.

One of the best local pizza joints

This place sells great pizza at reasonable prices. The best part, though, is their service, especially when it comes to delivery. They're proactive about making sure your order is correct, and make sure you're happy if it isn't. This is definitely one of the best local pizza places, and I highly recommend it.

Pizza is amazing here. Always ooey gooey. The hot sauce tastes alot like Frank's. It might even be so. Hottest spot downtown Vancouver. How can you beat 2 slice and a drank for 4 bucks? Not to mention there's a cute little hippy chick with a Canadian accent behind the counter these days. Love when she's serving the best pizza in town. Five stars for Uncle Fatih's!

The thing about Uncle Fatih's
By jjsararas of Vancouver (2 Reviews)
Submitted Friday, February 26, 2010 - 8:23pm [Dine in]

..aside from excellent pizza, is the experience ordering delivery. I always seem to speak to the same fellow, and it's always like bang-bang easy as pie. Nothing baffles me more than delivery restaurants who have people answering the phones that can't speak english. I just hang up. Uncle Fatih's is always super easy, even when you want to mix things up. Only once EVER have they screwed it up, and they sent the guy back (I probably shouldn't tell you this) with a new one, free of charge, no problem.

And of course, on to the pizza - Uncle Fatih's pizza is actually very unique. They combine all kinds of great ingredients in different ways (and they have GREEN OLIVES! no where seems to have green olives, only black, which are abviously disgusting. jk.) The crust is great, and the quality is consistent.

They always say 45 minutes for delivery but it NEVER takes that long. Under-promise, over-deliver. Good rule. And the delivery guys are always friendly, cool guys. Not only do you want to tip them but you almost want to invite'em in for a beer.

I've been ordering from here exclusively for about 6 years and have been meaning to write a review forever. There you go. Can't miss.

i used to pass by this pizza store when i used to work in Broadway. so i decided to call them one day and have the pizza delivered to my house. when a guy answed the phone, he said "we dont deliver in East Side in West side only if you want, come here and buy it yourself" and he put down the phone... when me and my friends were at the area the other day we decided to buy a Box of Large pizza while paying, i mistakingly punched the wrong number from my credit card i apologized to the lady and without saying a word she repeated the process agrily.
she was obviously annoyed and said something to her co-worker
while both are looking at me i want to say something but i stopped myself, i dont want to create a scene.the pizza wasn't that good either,it was burnt on the sides...not going back to this place anymore i just wasted my precious time and money.....!!!!.....

Delicious pizza, terrible customer service
By rootsp of North Burnaby (5 Reviews)
Submitted Friday, January 22, 2010 - 8:01pm [Dine in]

I love Uncle Fatihs Pizza. It is delicious, and has a wide assortment of tasty toppings. Unfortunately the 'restaurant' is generally hot and stuffy, and leaves little room for customers to eat (which is bad when it's raining). The customer service has been in my experience quite terrible. They have mixed up my orders several times and have outrightly refused to correct the orders. I have spoken to them about this but to no avail. As it stands, I would recommend Uncle Fatihs if you plan on swinging by their place, but if you get it delivered or drive a fair distance to pick up (as we do, driving all the way from Burnaby) then absolutely make sure they have your order right, or you're out of luck.

If you are thinking that this might be your next stop on the holy grail of quality pizza in Vancouver, well you probably want to keep driving. This is a 1.50 pizza slice joint and nothing more. It is what it is, they have a high traffic spot with quick and cheap pizza slices ready to go. The superior taste of their product isn't the reason for their success, and yes they are selling a LOT of pizza. Interestingly the pizza is exactly the same as the Pizza Garden on lower Commercial which makes me think one or the other was owned by the same owner at one time.

At any rate I'm not down on this pizza joint, it's a 1.50 pizza slice joint and it does fine for what it is, just don't go expecting the finest pizza in Vancouver.

Best quality quick slice of pizza

Uncle Fatih's not a date place. From the dingy red and white checked tile to the huge line out the door, it's your classic neighbour fast food place. The difference is Uncle Fatih's gourmet pizza is done right. The robust sauce, the copious amounts of fresh ingredients, the toasted sesame on the crust make this a sure hit every time you're too lazy to cook. At $1.50 a slice, or the pizza deal for two slices and a pop, it's a satisfying trip to make, for the stomach and your wallet.

I can't get enough
By dorkasaurus of Okanagan (12 Reviews)
Submitted Thursday, January 17, 2008 - 7:43pm [Dine in]

I haven't had better pizza anywhere. Granted, this is the West Coast and I've never been to New York, so I might be "easy to please." Still, the surprising array of toppings, the low prices, and the fantastic taste of this pizza keeps me coming back whenever I have junk food on the brain. I would never have thought to sprinkle sesame seeds on a pizza, but it adds a very unique and enjoyable flavour to these pizzas. I can't get enough spinach and mushroom pizza from this place. Uncle Fatih sometimes delivers the pizzas himself if it's a slow time of day!

A word to the wise: only TRUE garlic lovers should go near the garlic lovers' pizza from Uncle Fatih's. My place still smelled of garlic two days afterward.

Ghetto Gourmet Pizza!
By CoffeeKid of East Vancouver (15 Reviews)
Submitted Saturday, April 1, 2006 - 9:01pm [Dine in]

Uncle Fatih's pizza is literally the epitome of how good a buck fifty slice of 'za should be. The slices are well cooked, always full of toppings and cheese, always fresh (so much turnover on the 'zas helps this), and there's some really interesting combinations of flavours up for the grabs.

The shop is very small and always seems crowded, and the poor staff - so harried. I also notice whenever I'm there that no one really tips, which sucks. You get two slices and a drink for $3.50. Dropping the other buck fifty into the tip jar ain't a biggie, and it's still a massive bargain, given the cost.

Every potential pizza shop owner in town serving by the slice should be studying how Uncle Fatih does it, and try to even come close. There's two other shops within spitting distance of this one, and its like eating cooked cardboard.

Yeah, I'm a fan. One of the reasons why I love living in East Van.
