Pizza is amazing here. Always ooey gooey. The hot sauce tastes alot like Frank's. It might even be so. Hottest spot downtown Vancouver. How can you beat 2 slice and a drank for 4 bucks? Not to mention there's a cute little hippy chick with a Canadian accent behind the counter these days. Love when she's serving the best pizza in town. Five stars for Uncle Fatih's!

Dry, Salty, Cheeseless Pizza

We have heard good things about this little joint on Broadway and Commercial so we decided to try it for the first time via delivery. The person on the phone misunderstood my address and the order took 1hr and 20min to arrive. The pizzas we ordered were dry, cardboardy, salty and lacking cheese big time. Very disappointing, would not order or eat their pizza again.

The thing about Uncle Fatih's
By jjsararas of Vancouver (2 Reviews)
Submitted Friday, February 26, 2010 - 8:23pm

..aside from excellent pizza, is the experience ordering delivery. I always seem to speak to the same fellow, and it's always like bang-bang easy as pie. Nothing baffles me more than delivery restaurants who have people answering the phones that can't speak english. I just hang up. Uncle Fatih's is always super easy, even when you want to mix things up. Only once EVER have they screwed it up, and they sent the guy back (I probably shouldn't tell you this) with a new one, free of charge, no problem.

And of course, on to the pizza - Uncle Fatih's pizza is actually very unique. They combine all kinds of great ingredients in different ways (and they have GREEN OLIVES! no where seems to have green olives, only black, which are abviously disgusting. jk.) The crust is great, and the quality is consistent.

They always say 45 minutes for delivery but it NEVER takes that long. Under-promise, over-deliver. Good rule. And the delivery guys are always friendly, cool guys. Not only do you want to tip them but you almost want to invite'em in for a beer.

I've been ordering from here exclusively for about 6 years and have been meaning to write a review forever. There you go. Can't miss.

I've been here numerous times to grab something to go. Like many of the reviews before, the service isn't that great but I've never really had a problem with it. The staff here don't smile or greet, but they get your orders quickly and the food totally makes up for it.

This place is tiny, so just assume you probably won't have a spot to sit and enjoy your pizza. It does get quite stuffy sometimes. They have a couple of seats outside too.

The pizza itself is delicious. It's probably my favourite pizza joint in all of Vancouver. The toppings are great and fresh, they don't overdo it either. The crust is never too hard or soggy from tomato sauce. It's not super greasy like some other places. I've never had a burnt slice. And the veggie slices always look so colourful! One slice kills my hunger, and two just makes me absolutely stuffed.

It's 1.75 a slice, pretty awesome. I think they have a deal for two slices and a soda too. Awesome place to get food on the go!

The variety this place offers is pretty nice. The staff aren't friendly but much friendlier than those in Megabites. The slices are never luke warm, or that's been my experience anyway.
It is however, even smaller than Megabites. So eat else where. This doesn't bother me much, I don't terribly enjoy sitting alone eating messy pizza :P
I love their veggie slices, I'm not a vegetarian but I opt for the veg slice pretty often here. Nice large artichoke hearts, black olives, peppers, muchrooms.. the crust is thin and crisp, too.
I don't especially like that the people behind the desk don't speak much English, but that's a common problem with such joints that I assumingly overlook.

i used to pass by this pizza store when i used to work in Broadway. so i decided to call them one day and have the pizza delivered to my house. when a guy answed the phone, he said "we dont deliver in East Side in West side only if you want, come here and buy it yourself" and he put down the phone... when me and my friends were at the area the other day we decided to buy a Box of Large pizza while paying, i mistakingly punched the wrong number from my credit card i apologized to the lady and without saying a word she repeated the process agrily.
she was obviously annoyed and said something to her co-worker
while both are looking at me i want to say something but i stopped myself, i dont want to create a scene.the pizza wasn't that good either,it was burnt on the sides...not going back to this place anymore i just wasted my precious time and money.....!!!!.....

Delicious pizza, terrible customer service
By rootsp of North Burnaby (5 Reviews)

I love Uncle Fatihs Pizza. It is delicious, and has a wide assortment of tasty toppings. Unfortunately the 'restaurant' is generally hot and stuffy, and leaves little room for customers to eat (which is bad when it's raining). The customer service has been in my experience quite terrible. They have mixed up my orders several times and have outrightly refused to correct the orders. I have spoken to them about this but to no avail. As it stands, I would recommend Uncle Fatihs if you plan on swinging by their place, but if you get it delivered or drive a fair distance to pick up (as we do, driving all the way from Burnaby) then absolutely make sure they have your order right, or you're out of luck.

Where is the Cheese?
By DiscoDaddy of Vancouver (3 Reviews)

Just as DiscoDaddy is deciding upon what restaurant to write about for his third review, his good friend HockeyGord encourages your Disconess to try what he and apparently many Vancouverites considers to be the best take-out/pizza-by-the slice in the city, Uncle Fatih's.

Uncle Fatih's is located at East Broadway and Commercial Drive, an area that is right in DiscoDaddy's hood. Of course, being a man of the highest sophistication, DiscoDaddy knows not to compare this little place to the BEST pizza on earth, his very own DiscoMomma's Italian pizza nor should he even dare to compare it to his ultimate sit down favorite, Marc*ll*. (please wait disco fans for that review to come). DiscoDaddy knows that Uncle Fatih's is a take-out pizza and understands the difference... but how does it fair against DiscoDaddy's Italian stallion, his Rocky of take-out pizzas??? (please search DiscoDaddy's reviews and you will find the place)

Uncle Fatih's is very conveniently located for those that take public transportation, but for DiscoDaddy, he had to park his DB-9 farther away at Safeway to keep his baby out of harms way. On this unusual night, DiscoDaddy is not boogying the night away at his favorite discotheque, instead he has just finished playing ball-hockey at Britannia. DiscoDaddy is hungry and needs food badly.

What better time to try some of the famous Fatih's fare? When DiscoDaddy arrives, he finds he is completely overdressed for the event in his full Lululemon manwear. What shame Uncle Fatih's must be feeling now, making DiscoDaddy wait OUTSIDE the door just to get in line? Already DiscoDaddy is not happy, but hey if the pizza is really as good as the masses say, then maybe your Disconess needs to suffer a bit.

Once inside the closet-box of a store, DiscoDaddy is happy to find the Fatih is very well lit, perfect for DiscoDaddy to check out his own reflection in the glass to ensure his hair is gelled properly. Wow, what a tight squeeze, lucky DiscoDaddy has remembered to put on his best body spray. DiscoDaddy is a man of the people, he knows they appreciate his presence. All this time and we still haven't gotten to pizza?!!! Well... now you understand how long DiscoDaddy had to endure!
DiscoDaddy ordered the $4 special with a slice of Beef and Blue Cheese and some kind of vegetarian pizza. Boy is DiscoDaddy ever mad! How can HockeyGord be so dumb? The Fatih does not make pizza! Their so-called pizza is really some bastardized form of chop suey on crust. Their crust is actually OK, average taste and average crunch but that's where the good stuff ends. DiscoDaddy is holding his pizza, sniffing it all over like the dog he is, where in Discoland is the CHEESE?!!

After DiscoDaddy calms himself down and consumes the favorite part of his meal, his can of soda... he really understands what the Fatih is all about, it's about getting full, it's about eating chop suey, it's all about “stuff” tossed on a crust with NO CHEESE. Needless to say from DiscoDaddy's assessment, the Fatih is on his Do Not Like list. If DiscoDaddy wants good take-out chop suey, he goes to Kent's Kitch** (another place to be reviewed). On a side note, DiscoDaddy will say his Beef and Blue Cheese did have a lot of blue cheese, but DiscoDaddy doesn't like the Fatih's squeeze bottle, salad dressing blue cheese, he prefers real cheese.

To add further insult to DiscoDaddy's disappointing experience, he must say the service quality is bad, real bad (not in the Disco good way), the server had no clue how to communicate and just did not pay respect to the baddest cat to dance under the Disco ball. (After cruising the WWW, DiscoDaddy now understands the problem, just look at the Fatih's website, looks like the server might be the same guy who writes their content, really “sounds” like the way he talks).

Enough of the hate, DiscoDaddy has no time for that! If you want a piece of
cheap and filling pie, Uncle Fatih's may be for you! For DiscoDaddy? Never again... Fatih has taken DiscoDaddy's first and last $4.
Hold on, Disco retraction, DiscoDaddy should never say never... he will say that unless one of his trusted minions comes back with a real Badass review your Disconess will not be buying Uncle Fatih's pizza.

DiscoDaddy could not have blasted out of that joint fast enough! HockeyGord will be getting an earful from your Disconess.

DiscoDaddy has left the dance floor.

I work late nights. I often don't get to eat diner and I am very hungry at around 1am. This little joint always has fresh delicious pizza by the slice. At $1.75/slice its a really good deal. I used to live near Pizza Garden near Venables and this Pizza is much better and seems fresher. I've tried to tell them how much I like their pizza compared to other spots. They don't care...next!!!

They're busy for a reason

This little jem does what they do fairly well. I don't find their pizza amazing, but for a "by-the-slice" outfit, it delivers on a good slice of pizza with a generous amount of toppings for peanuts. The crust can get a little inconsistent but they run those toppings right to the edge, so crust lovers like me are put out. Until last night, I hadn't come here in a long while and little has changed in their pies, though the slices appear smaller and the prices have crept up.

Service is hardly worth mentioning, but you ought to know what you want or move away from the line, it's tight in there and many are regulars.

This is strictly a takeout place, hence the abundance of waste outside their premises.

Loyal Fatih followers aside, their pizza is better than the norm here, and there are plenty of them out there to pick apart.

Best Pizza In Town!

Though the place is small and is super cramped, you're not coming here for the decor. The pizza here is amazing with pizza constantly coming out that allows you have a huge variety.

The pizza is fresh and the ingredients are good. The price is very competitive and for a large pizza, it will cost you 14.50 if you pick out 8 slices.

This is the pizza place that I try to hit up as much as possible.

Loads of toppings
By Balmy of Burnaby (51 Reviews)

Been visiting this place since I went to UBC. It's one of the better places for pizza slices. It's nothing like an authentic pizza restaurant, but it's more than enough for the price you pay for a slice. I still stop by once in a while when I'm in the area.

So many choices to choose from. I like the potatoe one and the vegi ones the best. Loads of toppins compared to Freshslice Pizza. Portion size does seem like it has gotten smaller, and prices has gone up over time. Still the amount of toppings is what brings me back compared to the other pizza places near by.

Ambiance isn't good. Usually no place to eat inside as seats are limited. Sometimes it's dirty too. End up having to eat and walk at the same time with my pizza slices. Lots of immigrants working there.

Service is okay. They just give you what you want. Helps to point to the pizza slice that you want though. They upsell pop and slice combo occassionally.

Best pizza in the universe.

No one orders pizza and then sits down in the pizza store and expects good ambience, so obviously it gets a poor rating there. But the PIZZA. Its amazing.

I have introduced everyone I know that didn't know about this place beforehand, and they have all said the same thing. "This is the best pizza I think I have ever had". And come on, for 4$ for two massive slices of pizza and a pop?

It is a pizza parlour, so if you order pizza that looks like It has been sitting there fore awhile, it probably has. As far as freshness goes on the whole, Megabite is better, but as far as taste and quality goes, Fatih's beats megabite hands down. Just don't be stupid and order the extra cheese that looks like cardboard. USE YOUR BRAIN.

Fatihs is best in the evenings between 3PM and 11PM. Weekends, obviously later. The main variable in quality depends on the time of day, and the freshness of the pizza. If its fresh, its good. Ask if you really can't tell.

Potato Pizza

Eversince having a slice of their potato pizza, I've been hooked! Of the 3 kinds I've had here (potato, blue cheese and hawaiian), the potato wins hands down. It's unfortunate for the other flavors because, eventhough they are all delicious, if there's no potato left, I'd rather leave empty handed.

I say it's a good deal for a cheap meal and good sized slices.

Unless you're travelling by foot, it's a little tough to stop by if the nearby parking spots are taken or unavailable. Also, the customer area is pretty small and cramped. Between all the ppl lining up for slices, and ppl at the stools, it feels claustrophobic.

Considering the place has a lot of ESL students working under the table the service is pretty bad and they get your orders mixed up. They do not seem to care much about the customer. The pizza slices have decreased in size and they do not heat up the slices for you like most places do. So if your slice is cold you must eat it how it is.

Also it seems like they don't have enough room in the kitchen and they are more concerned with talking to eachother in Turkish than serving the customer.

I hate you hygiene reviewers! Seriously these things are better left unsaid! Anyways, for 1.75 (recent price increase since last year i suppose; understandable, do you know how much cheese costs!?) what more can you ask for? There is a very generous amount of cheese, sprinkled to the rim, the crust still pleases your tastebuds with an herb induced aroma, the toppings are fresh and because of the lineups, pizza is usually fresh, sometimes right out of the oven. And boy, when you eat it right out of the oven, it is piping hot and that is when you can revel in the joy of stringing cheese and pleasing your childhood self. The ranch sauce is decent :) I personally hate the potato slice, once ordered it by mistake, it is soggy, not as flavourful and oily! The greek pizza is also a no-no. Take out XL is silly becuase it costs more than buying individual slices.

For fast decent pizza its great, but what turn me off was last friday I was eating inside at the counter bar and the lady that was serving and collecting the $$ with the "serving gloves" was cleaning and wiping every crank around the cash register and then cleaning with some chemical around the counter top. She used the same gloves to serve the food. Who knows if she used the same gloves to cleaned the toilet?? Hygiene, Hygiene is all I ask. I'll be watching.

I have been eating here for years and its delicious x a high number. The service in the joint is great.. fast cool sweet done. Last night, some friends and I were feeling kinda lazy so we ordered delivery even tho it's a 5 minute walk. Hey, it was cold and rainy - welcome to junevember. It was a monday, it was quiet. We waited for 55 minutes for one large pizza. I called them after half an hour and dude picked up the phone yelling "IT WILL BE THERE IN A FEW, LIKE 10 MINUTES" and then hung up. We then waited for another 25 minutes. So ridiculous. Never do delivery.

If you are thinking that this might be your next stop on the holy grail of quality pizza in Vancouver, well you probably want to keep driving. This is a 1.50 pizza slice joint and nothing more. It is what it is, they have a high traffic spot with quick and cheap pizza slices ready to go. The superior taste of their product isn't the reason for their success, and yes they are selling a LOT of pizza. Interestingly the pizza is exactly the same as the Pizza Garden on lower Commercial which makes me think one or the other was owned by the same owner at one time.

At any rate I'm not down on this pizza joint, it's a 1.50 pizza slice joint and it does fine for what it is, just don't go expecting the finest pizza in Vancouver.

I'm taking some courses at VCC and on my way to school, couple times in a week I get a slice from Uncle Fatih's Pizza. Considering the store's size I do not expect much but as a customer I expect to get what I pay for. Last week I went in for a slice of Spicy Chicken pizza. After paying I realized that was a potato pizza. I turned to cashier and asked for spicy chicken slice. I was going to pay another 1.75, and as I was taking out the change from my pocket, the cashier replied "we do not exchange slice because it was your mistake". I did not want to make a scene and I apologized and left the store with my "potato pizza slice".
I think I deserve to get what I pay for.
This is going to be my last slice in that store.
