Tsuki Sushi Bar brings fresh, healthy and sustainable sushi to their customers. At Tsuki, only the freshest ingredients are used and an ever-changing daily specials menu is offered based on head chef Keita Kobayashi's recommendations.
Came here yesterday with a friend after reading some good reviews online. Wow, I was blown away!
First off the prices were incredible. The downtown/gastown area is generally a bit steeper in prices, but here everything was super reasonable! They had LIVE UNI on special - 1 nigiri for $3 or 2 for $5, the quality was really good, and it was local. Sushi places in the area can easily charge $4-6 for a small maki and $8-12 for a specialty roll - here their small maki's started at $2! and their specialty rolls (like their caterpillar roll) started at $4.5!
I was also super impressed that they are Ocean Wise, so all their seafood is sustainably harvested.
Their menu was extensive, aside from nigiri and rolls we also tried their tofu wakame salad ($4.50), which was really good, and their chawan mushi (again, really good), and a special they had with braised mushrooms, tofu, fresh tuna, wakame, and green onion (this dish was only $4.50 and super tasty).
They also boast actual Japanese items that you normally wouldn't find at less authentic restaurants, like natto, umeshiso, torotaku.
The service was super friendly and efficient, and the layout of the restaurant was modern, simple, and bright (we sat right by the window). I can't wait to come here again!
