Two story pub/grill eatery with an attached cold beer and wine store.
Went to watch a Canucks game one weeknight. The seating and view lines are not the greatest but they do have the big projection screen downstairs. Can't comment on the upstairs area. Ordered the usual pub dishes, chicken wings - not that great as it was a bit on the dry side, ribs - average and served with fries, stir fry - mistake and not very good, thai chicken salad - underdress made with formed chicken meat overall bad. Service was pretty good on a busy night but with the poor food and the average pub pricing, there are many other options to chose from.
These jumbo beef ribs are offered every Thursday. They start at 5pm... and are usually sold out by 8pm. So go!
Not sure how long this special will last, but they've been a Thursday specialty for the last two years... who knows eh?
Service is friendly, and you will have a view of the game at every seat. Try to get a seat up at the second level. The booths offer some secluded privacy away from the noise downstairs.
Other things to try: crispy dry ribs, wings, and even the tofu and beans are delish!
My friends and I have been going to Toby's regualrly for a few months now. They have really good nachos with chorizo. They have good chicken wings and for $4.50/dozen on Wednesdays, how can you go wrong. I also like the reggae band that plays there on Wednesdays. Toby's is a great casual hang out if you're craving pub food and just wanting to watch a game on their flat screen TV's, play pool or chill to some music. Sometimes the bands can be hit or miss but the pub fare definitely makes up for it. I just wish they were open later though.
