The Ticket Kitchen & Bar is an upscale spot with a huge focus on sports and events as well as quality food. Open 3 hours prior to all events at Rogers Arena and BC Place.
The service throughout the whole meal was terrible. We had reservations for 7pm which they could not find on their system initially and then had to wait another 15 minutes before our table was ready. Once we were ready to order our appetizers we had to try and flag a server down to take our orders ( getting several bus boys etc. to help us). Order being taken it took an excrutiating long time to get them. We were then told that our 2 appetizers were given to the wrong table ( how coincidental that another table had the exact same appetizers as we did?) The server said she prompted the kitchen and they would be out in a couple of minutes--not so, more like 15min. As mentioned before in reviews, only 2 small pieces of dried baguette to soak up some sauce from the prawn appetizer. If more bread was needed there would be charge of $2! The server offered to bring more because we had waited so long. That never showed up and we did not bother to ask for it either as we were well past finishing the appetizer. This first fiasco took over an hour.
Again we had to flag down the server to take our the order for our second course. Thankfully the prime rib was superb and cooked to perfection. Lamb shank ok. Desserts which were made for sharing were good but not stellar. Also, we were not given proper utensils or plates that we could share with but we made do.
Altogether there were 4 of us dining on a Groupon. I had been here before when it was Players Chop House, The menu has changed slightly but for the most part a lot of the items remain the same. The strong point of the menu is the prime rib. Previously when I dined here the service was great. We were being asked on a regular basis how everything was going and the timing of the meals were well paced. The restaurant was not as busy as it was on this occasion. However, being busy is no excuse for poor service. If management knows from the reservation list how full the restaurant is going to be , they should be prepared for this. I had brought friends who had never been to this restaurant before and was extremely embarassed. I doubt that they would ever consider returning. Sad, as being involved in a Groupon promotion is a good chance to promote the restaurant but not when presented with such a bad experience.
We purchased a groupon for this restaurant and made reservations to use it for my partner's birthday dinner. When we got to the restaurant there was a note on the door saying "due to technical issues groupons will not be accepted tonight".
What a way to start our night and experience with this restaurant. Although the hostess was apologetic she did nothing to help us with the situation. I asked to speak to the manager and he did the same. Forced out an apology and said nothing can be done for us even though we drove over an hour to try out this restaurant and it was my boyfriend's birthday. We had reservations and no one bothered to contact us to let us know about the groupon issue.
I've worked in customer service for over 10 years. If I was the manager I would have apologized sincerely, offered a 10%-25% discount (yeah it's not a lot) off the customer's entrees for their trouble and welcomed them back next time to use the groupon. A small incentive goes a long way in customer service.
Way to ruin our night. We would have stayed and spent a load of money if the staff there seemed like they were at least TRYING to help with the situation. All we got was "call groupon it's their fault you can't use your voucher".
We didn't even get to try the food so I can't comment on that. But we'll never step foot back in this place great food or not. Spent 2 hours traveling there and back home, wasted money on gas and unused parking time.
Had a chance to get out and away from parenting this weekend. Looking forward to a nice dinner out, we made reservations and headed out to the Home and Garden Show then for dinner. It was fantastic! We arrived at The Ticket, the room was really nice, and the place was packed. Service was terrific. I had prime rib, my wife had the ahi tuna. Tremendous. We look forward to our next night out here!
