Decent place but awesome food

Good Thai food is hard to find, especially real Thai food. This place is as authentic as it gets for a small Thai place. The ambience is clean and simple with tall chairs. Minimal decor but the food is anything buy minimal. If you can take the heat, as for the dishes to be made Thai style. Their Pad Thai is good. I recommend their Dry Curry Chicken. And for salads, you can't go wrong with their Yum Woon Sen for $6 and its a hefty portion enough to be a main course, consisting of clear noodles, shrimps, chicken, lemon grass and a tangy delish dressing. A stellar dish is their Kai Yang which is a barbeque chicken with Thai spices. They will tone down the spices if you wish but I'd suggest go Thai style as that's how its eaten in Thailand.

Not as good or authentic as I remembered

I went to Thai Terrace again and was disappointed with my basil chicken. It didn't have enough basil in it. The soup was way too salty and the spring roll was too greasy. My partner's green curry had a radioactive green hue to it, and contained broccoli, which in my opinion is not an authentic ingredient in thai curries.

It's still cheap $8.55 for the dinner combos, but I don't think I will go back again.

Check out the lunch specials..good deals

Popped in by myself for something quick. I ordered off their lunch specials and had the brocolli and beef in oyster sauce, it was huge! I came with rice and salad and a spring roll. I asked if they make they springrolls inhouse and was pleased to hear that they did!
I sat at the window and noticed that there was a rack of mags and newspapers, the girl that took my order also cooked my food and brought it out. It was a little warm inside but sitting near the door and having a big glass of water helped. In the 20 mins that I sat there I'd say 6 different ppl came to pick up or place an order for food. It was very good and tasted fresh. I was really happy and the value for the amount of food if awesome from the Lunch Specials. I'll be back for sure.

Helps if you take the sand out of the prawns! Taste like dirt! Use alot of peppers to fill the plate...Univentive. Panang curry and chicken cashew have exactly the same ingredients, chicken, red and green pepper, oniions...only difference between the 2 is that panang curry has coconut milk and broth and chicken cashew has guess what....cashews. A monkey could have made these 2 dishes.
There are way better Thai food places out there that are cheap and awesome...try Thai Away Home, Thai Basal or 24/7 Thai. mind you 24/7 Thai resturant's decor needs work, but their food is awesome.

Since I live in Langley, I only come here during the day on weekends. I've been to alot of thai restaurants and I think the food here is pretty good. It is good value for your buck, the lunch combos are a good value (a little less than the dinner combos). Last time I ordered a tofu/vegetable pad thai and the portion size was definitely worth the money. The side salad was simple and not overdressed, the spring roll was honestly one of the BEST i've ever had; wasn't over greasy, nice and crispy and sauce was simple. Paid thai was simple and yummy but hey, i've been to alot of restaurants that surprisingly seem to screw it up.

Yes, the ambience is nothing special but still one of my favourite places to go for a quick Thai bite!

After reading some goods reviews on here my boyfriend and I tried Thai Terrace. I thought the food was bland and poor value. We ordered a few dishes and couldn't tell the difference between the sauces, except for the obvious yellow curry. It can't be a good sign if you order different dishes and they taste the same. The portions were really small, which is why I say it's poor value. We live near Thai Away Home on Cambie and it's much better. I would not go to Thai Terrace again with so many better Thai options.

Thai Takeout

I'd recommend this place for take-out only. There isn't much ambiance in there. I've eaten in once, but only because I was in a hurry. Usually I phone in my order and then go and pick it up. It usually only takes about 15 minutes until my order is ready. The staff there are always extremely friendly both on the phone and in person.

Now for the food. For what it is, I'd say it is good. I've only ever ordered the curries and the pad see ew, but they've all been good. Not the best Thai I've ever had, but tasty and fast. One time my pad see ew was extremely salty, but that was my only negative experience with this place. I've been back since and have been satisfied. Prices are reasonable considering the portions are fairly large.

This is one of my favourite little spots in my neighbourhood, the food is very consistant and full of flavour.

The currys are all very good I cant decide if I prefer the green or yellow, I also enjoy the rice noodles with beef and greenbeans.

The value is good especially if you get the combo, it comes with a soup, a spring roll, and small salad.

Very simple and clean decore with about 15 seats the staff is very friendly and knowlegable

You're there for the food, not the ambiance!

A regular haunt for us, and the food has always been very good. This is mainly a take-out place, so don't expect too much by way of ambiance. The kitchen is an "open-style", so you can see the chefs cooking your meals. I generally feel more comfortable seeing what is going on in the kitchen, and this one appears to be in good order. Overall, the experience is positive, and the prices are very reasonable.

The food was good, this was my first experience with thai food and i enjoyed it. The price was good and the portions were HUGE! The restaurant isn't really set up for a comfortable dining experience because of high bar stool like chairs. The food made up for it. The service was quick and the staff was friendly.

Thai it Out!

For people living in the Kitsilano area near Broadway and MacDonald, Thai Terrace is our delicious little secret. I have to admit, I come here for lunch or dinner at least once a week! The food is fantastic. I've tried quite a few things on the menu and never been disappointed, especially their Pad Thai (#34). It is addictive! The best deals are either the lunch combo at $7.00 where you get a spring roll, salad and your main dish, or the dinner combo at $9.00 where you get all the lunch goodies plus a bowl of their Tom Yum soup. (Correct me if I'm wrong - may not be Tom Yum but its darn good whatever it is!). The service is always beyond friendly (not just for the regulars like me) and prompt. They offer a nice cooler of water and real cups (not some crappy paper cup) to beat the heat of the hotter dishes and make sure you try either the mango or coconut ice cream to finish it all off.

The Ikea-esque decor leaves a bit to be desired but really, its all about the food so at the end of the day, who cares if you're perched on a stool, slurping up the last of your soup?

I've tried quite a few Thai places just to see how they stack up to TT and none have come even close. If you're on Broadway and close to Bayswater/MacDonald, stop in and see why I dream about their spring rolls. Oh - and make sure you get a card stamped for either dinner or lunch combo purchases. You'll be back so why not earn yourself a free lunch/dinner while you're at it?

I've never had anything here that I didn't like - it's all delicious - great price, great service, very friendly and with a smile. If you're looking for food to go it's a very short wait. If you want ambience go somewhere else and pay twice as much. Try the Pad Thai - yum!

Don't waste your time!!

Why on earth would anyone eat here? Vancouver has some of the best thai food in North America, so PLEASE do not waste your time with this restaurant. If you want cheap thai food that's actually decent, eat at Thai Away Home (Cambie or Davie) or Take Thai Home on Commercial. If you want incredible Thai food that is a bit pricier, head to Sawasdee on Main street or Sala Thai on Cambie.
Thai Terrace is bland and their curry is watery.
The end.

Thai It!!!

Now here’s a great restaurant. Don’t let the casual atmosphere fool you. The food here is authentic, packed with flavour, and incredibly affordable. The service was refreshingly friendly. Pad Thai was a definite winner – you can’t go wrong. The Pad Khing was to die for! The beef curry was nice, excellent flavour, but not out of this world… The dinner combo was a good choice to add some greens, veggie spring roll, and soup to round out a meal for an additional buck-fifty or so. What else can we say… we’re just two satisfying diners… Thai it!!!
