Good Chinese food on Robson
By cyberspace of vancouver (56 Reviews)

Went for some Szechuan food on Robson street. It was not that busy as we had just missed the lunch crowd. The service was good and food was good. I will go back. The furniture does not adapt well for a Chinese restaurant but it's good for Robson Street. This is a small place so maybe it's not that great when the restuarant is busy. Reasonable prices. Only problem was finding some parking in the area.

No Longer Have to Schlepp Out to The Drive

For years that needed fix of spicy fried green beans, tan tan noodles and any number of wonderful main dishes could only be gotten by taking the long drive from the West End to Commercial. Now, since a branch of my favorite Szechuan has opened on Robson at Jervis, it's a just a short walk. The food is just a slight notch below that of the original but still ranks up there with the best. The $8.99 lunch special including soup, main, rice, tea and fortune cookie is a steal. Plus 10 lunches get you a free one. Only complaint is that service is frequently haphazard, but not that big a deal.

Great new chinese restaurant in the West End
By mistraal of North Vancouver (24 Reviews)

I ate lunch at the new Chongquing on Robeson and was impressed. The lunch specials looked good and I tried Tan Tan noodles with the deep fried pork chops. Very, very good( better than Lin's, the the Golden Great Wall but not as good Tan Tan Mein as at the Shanghai Wonderful), and a bargain at $7.75 before tip, because you have enough to eat !!! and it tastes good too! The portions were generous, service was very good(mebbe because it wasn't crowded) and the black seating and white interior is very stylish and relaxing, although the music can be obtrusive. Much better than over priced ramen houses with feature soup, noodles and just an excuse for protein. A small joint with seating for 50? but very cool, very tasty and a true find('cos there aint very good Chinese food in the West End). The only caveat is no xiao long bao...alas?
