I have heard about Swiss Bakery and was finally in the area and decided to check it out. I love the bakery smell of fresh baked breads and cookies. I decided to order their Multigrain, loved how it was still warm, and it was then bought two loaves. I thought the service was good, since the gal was going as quickly as she could, and was friendly with everyone waiting for her. This place is just off main street, and didn't expect to come accross and really nice bakery that sold many items.
When I got home, I loved their multigrain bread so much, I wanted to keep eating the entire loaf of bread. Fresh, wonderful aroma, greaat texture and was delicious. I will have to go back to check out their sandwiches and soup, and even their cookies. I'm glad I live not too close, or this place could be a home away from home.
The people that we're inside the bakery, all had something good to say about their food.
Will be back.
I went there again recently to find that the sandwich prices have gone up, but the sandwiches have gone down. $6.10 for a "bacon and brie" sandwich that had no discernable brie and very little bacon. The bread was good. Apparently they no longer make sandwiches to order, but will put one on the grill. The drink cooler is gone. So now it's basically a semi-cafeteria, I guess. I'm not faulting the baked goods, just the cafe aspect.
Such amazing value, especially when compared to the pretentious, close by Terra Bread, around the corner. At Swiss Bakery, they will give you free soup if it's the bottom of the pot, they will smile and say hello every time you walk in, they make huge sandwiches and give you a free tasty bun with their (excellent) soup of the day, and the food is AMAZING. I would recommend their sandwiches on olive bread, or their pretzel sandwiches, if you really want to fill yourself up for half a day at a great price. Swiss Bakery has won my heart, and so long as I work in the area I will gladly continue to give them my money for lunches! Try it!
This is a deceptive little spot. The location is way outside the core of the city where you wouldn't expect high quality professional baking - but it is top notch!
This is a lovely little neighbourhood bakery that has a few tables as well so you can eat there. It has a really warm feel to it, and a beautiful selection of baked goods.
Like the daily sandwiches and soups, recommended.
