Went by on a Sunday as many of my regular places were closed. Ordered roll combo - rolls were all right, pretty average. Cali roll, spicy tuna and crab roll. Rice was room temp and a bit on the warm side, I don't mind but some people might. Also the sashimi combo, farmed salmon which was a bit frozen, average tuna and a good scallop sushi. Service was pretty bad with mixed up orders, slow service and wrong change. Just your newish takeout joint. Wouldn't return.
I was hungry and the pictures on the menu looked appetizing. The food was awful. I ordered the spicy sushi combo and it didn't even come with a side of miso soup or anything. The sushi was tiny; the rice was soggy and there was more sauce than sushi. The chicken teriyaki udon was the worst $8 I've ever spent. It was like instant udon with a couple pieces of day-old chicken breast (with skin on) on top, with 1 drizzle of teriyaki sauce. I wish I had taken a picture to post. Worst was the cashier and the chef spoke Chinese and I am Chinese, so throughout my lunch, all I heard was the cashier telling the chef how back in China she used to preserve salted fish and how it was so gross it made her puke. For a good 10 minutes, every other word she said was "vomit". Really?! Please save yourselves and do not go to this place.
chicken, this is the place for you!
I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Box. The Miso soup was good, California Roll was a warm but then I realized they were pre-made and sitting out waiting to be ordered.
The first bite of that chicken I knew it was boiled and leftover. To be sure, I asked the young women working there if this chicken was boiled, she said “yes”.
I should have known better because it appears they don’t really have a kitchen.
Anyhow, NEVER AGAIN!!
I am never going to eat here again! It was pretty good last year around this time (the last time I ate here), but the food was so unappetizing today! I ordered a dynamite roll and it was 2/3 avocado, soggy fried prawn, and no cucumber. I also ordered toro sashimi and it was still frozen when I bit into it-- even after a 10 minute walk back to the office.
new take-out dine-in sushi joint. literally opened two days ago, so they were still lacking in inventory: cups and japanese tea. i'll give them a break because the lady threw in free miso for not having tea available. it's located on the same block as save-on-foods. the help yourself refrigerator offers take-out sushi. the food was average, but what do you expect for take-out. lots of chairs and counter seating. my dynamite combo (a roll and four pieces of sushi) was only $7.50, not bad for food on the fly. that location with so much traffic, i can see it surviving.
