Tiny (seating for 20) sushi/udon/teriyaki place on Nelson, between Granville and Howe street.
I decided after many months, walking pass, to give them a try. I was greeted warmly and it wasn't too busy for after 1pm. I decided to order the Dynamite Roll box to eat in. I loved the Chicken teriyaki great tasting with noodles and rice. The tempura was good & crispy and Dynamite roll was large, had lots of flavour, but fell apart easily..it was still good. It even came with salad, gyoza and strawberry, the bento box was good for the price for about $10.50 was filling, and had left overs.
Look forward to trying it again.
This tiny little establishment opened before Christmas, and I finally got around to stopping in for lunch.
The servers immediately greeted me, friendly and beaming with enthusiasm.
I ordered take out consisting of gomae and a sushi roll (can't remember the name, but it was a dynamite roll, with avocado and unagi slices, drizzled lightly with teriyaki sauce and mayo).
The food was very good. The gomae has a fresh light hint of lemon, and the sushi was fresh and made-to-order.
The room is very small and compact, but nice enough.
I had some time left on my parking meter while I was downtown so I popped into this place for lunch today expecting the usual sushi fare. I was wrong - it was *way* better than expected!
The food was great - I had their teriyaki lunch box with beef. The rolls came with the tempura batter sprinkles on top as a nice touch, the tempura was fresh and delicious, and the beef teriyaki came with rice *and* yakisoba noodles! The waitress was always nearby with fresh tea and was friendly to boot.
Best of all? Only ten bucks. I'll definitely be back next time I'm downtown at lunch.
