I've eaten here three times and also purchased take-out twice. The prices are on par with average... they have the usual miso-soup with California roll discount combos. The sushi is average as well, not great but not that bad. They're a little on the small side.
The service is the main negative. Both the woman and the man behind the counter are somewhat unfriendly. I don't usually care about service but they are noticeably standoff-ish.
It is usually pretty quiet when I've been there.
I came here for lunch today, because I wanted to have something else asides from burgers and the regular deep fried stuff.
Came in, the ambiance had a nice feel. ordered my food. The lady who toke my order was pretty polite and helpful, but the guy who brought me my food, just dropped it right in front of me without a word.
The food, well it was ok, but I have had better sushi at other places.
I might return out of convinience, it wasn't really that bad.
I have been here a couple of times and each time I ask myself "why did you do this again?". The sushi doesn't taste fresh at all. I think because there is a lack of other places to eat in the area I find myself going back but at least they sell Mario's gelati.
I just had takeout from this place today and it was a horrible experience right from the start. The lady who i presume is the co-owner was extremely rude and unpleasant when I ordered. It felt like I wasn't welcome at all. After taking my order, she never said thank-you or anything to me. I had to ask for the receipt twice before she gave it too!
When my order was ready for pickup in 5 minutes, she asked me if I needed chopsticks.. well DUH! what am I gonna do? eat the bento box with my bare hands?
After arriving back home, I notice that the wasabi is totally wet, the tempura is not even remotely crispy, the california rolls are wet, the salad has a weird taste to it and the chicken teriyaki has a rubbery texture to it. Also, I got just ONE package of soya sauce and it wasn't even the decent Kikkomen brand. It was Wing-On soya sauce! LOL.
The sad thing about this whole experience was that the bento box costed 11$. I've had delicious bento boxes from japanese restaurants on commercial drive that only charge $6.50.
Never coming here again. Even if I am starving and haven't eaten for 7 days.
went here with a buddy of mine during work hours and he ordered the chicken teriyaki rice lunch box..when the order came it may look like chicken but tasting it.. it did not taste like chicken..somewhat of a strange taste..also the texture of the chicken looked odd..only good thing from that was the tempuras. Miso soup tastes watery not much flavour.
