Good, inexpensive tofu soup

Location is not the greatest, but what do you expect for a cheapy place like this. Inside is okay, your average little diner, not too dirty, but not super clean either.
Seems like the place is now run by a bunch of young-ish guys, so they're not match for the usual Korean aunties at these restaurants, they're a little slow and not entirely on top of the game, but at least they seem earnest.

Food...well, it's more or less just tofu soup. Maybe a bibimbob, a grilled fish and paejun and that's about it, so don't go around expecting anything more. They conveniently list out some vegetarian tofu soups (I don't know if their base is absolutely "clean"). If you've never had this stuff before, you can also ask for the menu with all the pictures of everything. Very considerate.
The tofu soup, fortunately, is done quite decently. Nothing mind blowing, but just good, tasty, filling tofu soup. Nothing memorable about the side dishes, but perfectly fine.
(If you have 2 people, recommend the "helmet" tofu soup. it's a big mix of everything, and while slightly pricier, it seems quite a larger portion as well).
Good cheap food to warm you up, that's about it. Keep it simple.

just had dinner here today. only one waiter who served the restaurant, but he was pretty efficient & friendly. food took a little longer than most korean restaurants we go to. our party ordered pork bulgogi $11 (forgot to ask how it was), seafood tofu soup $8 (standard according to my hubby) and i ordered the stone bowl bibimbab w/ tofu soup $11. was happy w/ my meal and surprised how cheap it was compared to other restaurants. mos places charge a $1-2 premium to have the bibimbab in a stone bowl (dol sat bibimbab) so it usually costs about $10. For $11 you got the stone bowl and almost the same portion of tofu soup as the regular menu. both were tasty.

as well surprised that with 4 adults the waiter brought out two sets of side dishes. most places only give you one set and you have to ask for more and sometimes they charge you to refill. the waiter actually asked us if we wanted refills.

nice that he also spoke good english as it's not always the case in the restaurants we normally frequent.

would definitely go back again!

i agree that the place is a bit inaccessible, however their food is worth the trip there.

i went with 2 other friends on a sunday, around 8:30pm and the place was very quiet... maybe 2 other tables were occupied. i had heard good things about the restaurant so we decided to dine.
the food was very well priced, with tofu soups only setting you back $9 maybe? the soups come in iron bowls, keeping it piping hot, and the rice came in its own iron pot too! the waiter scooped it out into a bowl for us; freshly cooked rice was very tasty.

the pajyun (seafood pancake) is definitely worth ordering! i've had many around vancouver, but none as fluffy and crisp on the outside.

and of course, the side dishes are all you can eat- the seaweed was very tasty, as well as the potato.
