Slim'z (formerly Fatzo's) has a casual atmosphere for barbecue, blues, and beer.
I met up with some friends I haven't seen in a long time and went consignment shopping. Decided to visit a few stores along West Broadway and worked up an appetite! Walking along, we decided to give Slim'z a try. The interior had a little Jazzy feel to it. It's a nice place just to chill with friends and have a good meal.
Our service was good, but there was one weird thing about the place. There was a big screen tv, and on the afternoon we went, for some reason, they decided to play "The Grudge". It definitely created a weird mood. I didn't want to see a rotting girl with dirty hair haunting SM Gellar while eating my eggs bennie.
The people from Memphis Blues should take a night off and eat here. The food is tasty, the portions are generous, and the staff doesn't have anything up their backsides, if you know what I mean. The choices are more and better than the competition, and I really felt I got my money's worth.
I liked this place when it was Fatzo's!
I went a few months ago with my husband and my brother and his wife. The place was deserted.
The food came late and the waitresses (thats right, there were 3 working at the time) totally ignored us, and talked to each other!
It was overpriced for the serving sizes.
When I went before when it was called Fatzo's, the service was great and the food and portions wonderful!
I had never been so annoyed at a waitress as I was on my visit to Slim's. It was awful. Despite my outrage, I left a tip (people need to make a living) , but left a note saying they were cooks tips only.
The food was passable (even good) too bad the service sucked!
It's a shame.
