Dim Sum- yum yum!

Highly recommend you make a reservation because this place is always busy. The dim sum is great and the food comes very fast (no carts, just tickcard). Only downside is some of the waitstaff are not very friendly and it always seems to take a while to get a credit card rung through. But the food is delish and the price is right.

I went to a family dinner with some of Mrs. C’s cousins at SP. They eat there all the time, and it is their hangout in the ‘hood. The restaurant is typical for a small Chinese joint. I found the service to be good, and the place was reasonably clean.

We had a set dinner this time, and it included lobster in cream sauce with noodles, steamed spinach with garlic, deep fried tofu, sweet and sour pork, beef and mushrooms with fungus (I don’t know the English name) and for dessert, black sesame soup.
All the food was okay-average, but nothing stood out. I have stated my objections to anything 'sweet and sour' in a previous review, so I won't repeat it here. Will I be back? Probably not. There are so many choices, and I can find average Chinese food at lots of places.

Go if you must.

Good dim sum, great service

I had dim sum here last Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised. All the classics were good with one exception. The shui mai tasted weird, like no shui mai I have ever had. Other than that, all the dishes were tasty and not too greasy. The service was very good, dishes came out fast, water was refilled. The price is about average, not cheap but not super expensive either. Overall, a good experience.

Excellent dim sum joint always packed and busy.
Service was top notched and now this place is closed??!!

The items were more interesting than the regular dim sum fare.

I wonder why as it was doing so well.

Now called Golden Harvest.

Great dim sum!

This restaurant moved over from a really small space in the little plaza on Fraser & 49th. They never used to have dim sum until they moved to this new location.

This is my regular dim sum restaurant now. There are not many good "in-between" dim sum places like this - not yucky $2 places, and not $4-5/dish.

I recommend their fried daikon "cakes" with XO sauce - excellent dish. Shrimp spring rolls are pretty good too. I would consider the portions large for dim sum. Everything is made when you order so it all comes out fresh.

My only complaint is that their dessert selection is not that great and the ones I've tried are mediocre. Also I've heard dinner is mediocre.

Very Good Dim Sum

I have been here twice since the location changed ownership. The first time great food service to be desired. Second time they nailed it! The Dim Sum is very good. I am always wary of MSG and it is present here but not in the amounts found elsewhere. I really like the food here it is a good value. Wish the would bring back the bean curd roll though. It is a staple sorely missed. Lots of good food here to choose from even with out it. I will be back.

good food for the price

good food for the price. I used to go there all the time, but it's too far for me now that I found one closer to my area (happyvalley restaurant - same quality in food for larger portions and closer to my home and nicer ambniance). The only thing they could work on is:

1. better service - always feels rushed and takes forever to get the bill. Never get my water, ever.
2. the decoration is boring and old fashioned. washrooms.... errr yup.

Otherwise the food is pretty good for the price. some of my fav dishes:

The pan friend lo bak go - they make it the best here. I"ve pretty much tried that in most of the dim sum places.
The beef tendon hot pot. Deep friend little silver dollar fish. Deep friend tofu.

Other than sun sui wah, which sometimes are a hit or miss, If I'm in the area, I go here. But Sunm sui wah does have really good king crabs - the garlic style ones.

This place is really good for dimsum. Good alternative too sun sui wah. Both places are usually packed on sundays. You should definetly try this place out if your a dimsum lover.. The previous resturant at this location was also pretty good in terms of food, however because of the renovations they made the ambiance is now alot better
