A pizza place in Point Grey, one of the few that delivers to UBC.
It was my first time trying this place, I felt like I had to warn others. The pizza had the weirdest sweetly-sick sauce that ruined the pizza for us. Even though we were very hungry, it was hard to choke down enough to sate our hunger. We are throwing the rest of the pizza out. It did come fast and was pretty cheap, it came to $19 for 2 medium pizzas. Too bad one of the only places the delivers to UBC area is so terrible.
The lack of pizza places in the Point Grey area led me to try Sasamat Pizza Factory. I was surprised at the notion of a Chinese-run pizza restaurant, but was not disappointed by their fare.
For what in this neighbourhood is a very fair price indeed, you can get a pizza that is both tasty and not over-the-top in any one category. The crust is good, the sauce is good, the toppings are good - I have yet to have a burned pizza, or one with a messy excess of cheese or sauce. This is more than I can say about popular chains back home in Ontario.
Before stopping here I had eaten a week earlier at an authentic Italian place around the corner (the name currently escapes me). I found that their pizza just wasn't very good, and that Sasamat's had it beaten soundly.
Service at Sasamat Pizza Factory is fast and courteous. The Ambiance can't really be measured because it's a take-out shop.
