Sandy La offers a menu of Chinese cuisine for dine in and take out.
Great value but the meat can be salty. The beef i tried the 2nd time was probably the last. Too salty.
Chicken was good. The fried noodle was ok.
The fried rice was too dry. Last time they did a better job.
Big dishes and good price. The place has ok service.
I would come back for select dishes. I have been to other chinese restaurants with the same price but consistant taste and a bit better quality.
After a dinnerless dinner party, we were ravenous. Unfortunately, it was 2am, and there's not a lot to choose from in our neighbourhood. But then the light shining from the windows of Sandy La beckoned us in.
We ordered beef with gai lan, spicy geen beans, wonton soup and shrimp fried rice. With the exception of the rice, everything was tasty and fresh- we figured that it being 2am might have contributed to the less-than-stellar texture of the dish. However, the little pink shrimp in it were firm, plump and tasty, and there was so much on the plate that we filled two containers to take home with.
The staff were very prompt and kind, and we were able to linger over our enormous late-night repas without feeling hurried out. And with the leftovers, we've been able to have dinner twice more. Yum.
