No competition in that area = Mediocre product

This BBT place used to be much better especially the first couple of years they were open. They used to put more fruit in the drinks so there was actually some flavour. Now they majorly skimp on the fruit, so their BBT is mostly sugar water. Also the prices have crept up over the years. It's around $4 -$4.50 for fruit BBT. They can get away with increasing prices and serving a inferior product because they have absolutely no competition in that area. I usually stop off here before watching a movie and smuggle the drink in. The owners seem nice I just wish they were less greedy and provided a better quality drink. Also apart from BBT they offer some other things such as ice cream sundaes with various toppings which actually are a good value and a decent size and generously topped off. If the owners read this please try to at least provide straws in plastic wrapper for your customers. With so many viruses going around I hate that the straws were probably touched by other customer's grubby hands.

I went looking for some afternoon refreshment and found myself in front of Sammi's kiosk at International Village. The ambiance is pure food court, with the usual assortment of weirdos drifting around (after all this place is a block from Pigeon Park).

I had a pina colada with jelly and it was fine. Not the greatest, but fine. The service could have been a notch better. The guy mixed up my order with someone else's and needed a do-over. As for price, it is comparable to other places.

Good enough.

Learn how to make bubbletea please!

I've been drinking bubble tea from this place for the past 2 years.

The taro and green tea milkshake has always been very consistent and good. Considering there isn't many bbt places around this neighborhood Sammi's does give you the fix.

Its unfortunate that this time they totally forgot how to even make a proper bubble tea - its sad cause this is a mom and pop store and the women that works there (I think its Sammi herself) does work really really hard to keep the place running.

Long story short I ordered the usual green tea milkshake with pearls and my expectation was at least it had to taste like green tea with a milky/creamy taste to it just like the cheaper green tea icecream you'd get at the grocery store. I do remember it tasting this way.

This time it wasn't the case where the bbt tasted like it used some cheap generic green tea powder mixed with ice to create a green tea slushie with ice. Not only was this the case - ended up getting something really watered down and runny.
Normally I would have drank it or threw it away but I was pretty mad - and asked Sammi to make me a new one. She hesitated at first but resisted.

She asked me if you like it more slushie - I told her it doesnt taste like a mlikshake at all. Low and behold what does she do add more ice it becomes slushie but still the same crappy taste. Went back again and told her here you can have it, thank you and I wouldn't want my money back.

Didn't really intended to make a big scene but when you open up a business, your customers are expecting a certain level of quality. Sorry to say but you've lost a long-time customer

This place is okay, I come here sometimes to get some bubbletea if I don't feel like going somewhere farther. I'd say it's been okay for the time being. I always got the green apple or strawberry slush, and ive never been dissapointed. But don't get it with milk, you'll surely be dissapointed. The chocolate milkshake is good too, but if you want something more fruity than chocolate, then I recommend the green apple or strawberry.

Sammi does have some of the better fruit slush in the Vanc. area, with a very reasonable price points, It's one of the best values around town. Try their $4. mango slush if in the area as it will bring you back for more.
