Sage Bistro at University Centre, UBC, offers west coast fare in a European style brasserie.
I go here a lot because it's the only half-decent food on campus. Nevertheless, it's not amazing either. The menu changes every month and June's menu has not been very tasty (I've sampled about half of it now). April was great, however. So it really depends. Right now a lot of the dishes are either bland or oily. Good luck with July! As for the ambiance, it's got an amazing view, but the inside is sort of 80s in its idea of chic. Not particularly interesting--also, they only seat fancy-looking professors and university administrators at the nice tables with a view. Us students (who pay the same, by the way) get the tables in the back where machines make a lot of noise and servers are always bustling about. Annoying... Oh! and the coffee there is vile (and expensive). Go to Boulevard Roasting Co if you want a decent cup on campus.
