A craving for chicken wings led me and my significant other to Rockford. It was a warm and quiet early evening so we decided to dine in the patio - it was unfortunate that the cushioned seats were crumb-filled, stained and dusty. Hopefully that will get cleaned up soon for the impending summer of al fresco dining. Rockford offers a before 6pm appetizer special with chicken wings, ginger beef, french fries, and a double order of edamame for $6 each. Feeling snackish, we ordered one of each. The french fries were light golden brown and crispy, while the edamame was scented with crisp garlic chips and sesame seeds. Tender, substantial strips of beef were crispy and covered in a sweet and spicy sauce. Although I'm partial to almost any type of chicken wing, these wings suprisingly lacked the taste of actual chicken, possibly due to the coating of spicy seracha sauce. All in all, great snacks and great portions for the price.
The pre-dinner rush service was quick and attentive, and we look forward to a return trip for a taste of their more complex menu items.
