Ricky's is a family friendly spot offering a varied menu of casual classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mrs. C and I were downtown and craving some dinner, when we decided to try Ricky's. This location is in the subterranean mall at Burrard and Cordova. The ambiance was diner retro and very clean and the server seemed really friendly. It was a little unnerving eating in the giant mall cavern, but the restaurant looks like a regular Ricky's location inside, so my unease wore off quickly.
This location had a scaled-down version of the regular Ricky's menu but there were still lots of choices. I had the double burger with rings, and my beloved dining companion had an egg muffin with hashbrowns. All the food was very tasty, and I found my meal was particularly satisfying. Plus it was cheap. If I had any complaint it was that the w/c was too far from the restaurant.
I'll be back soon!
Went to Ricky's after an office xmas party and nite at the Pan Pacific. Needed a great hangover fix and Ricky's did the job!! WOW - what a cure! Lotsa food and just the right amount of grease. One of the best omelettes I've had in years and they actually used fried onions inside. Too often they start with raw onions and they never cook. It was cheese, mushroomy and absoutely perfect. Hashbrowns were the crispy shredded kind and the sourdough toast was perfect and perfectly buttered. Hubby had a huge waffle and stuffed hashbrowns which he declared awesome.
This location is smaller andin a food court but is very diner-like. Waitress was a bit off and slow witted but our coffee was refilled often and was hot and fresh. I LOVE Ricky's!
I went here by accident as a friend and I were walking around trying to decide where to have a lunch one day. Wanting something a bit better than a quick food court sub or fried burger we ended up at Ricky's. It struck me that they are a diner (here at least) and they do what they are supposed to - which is serve reasonable food to hungry people who have to get back to work. Service was quick and I quite enjoyed my clubhouse and fries. It was just fine. The fries seemed fresh and well cooked although it sure it came from a freezer. I remember the service was efficient and was everything I expected.
This Ricky's is most definately NOT a place for a hot date, but for a little more than the price of a subway it was nice to be sitting down and have table service. I'd go again.
