Came in last week before work, and I had decided to try thier fish and chips. Upon arriving the restaurant looked a little empty (but that's ok) I was seated immediatly. I had ordered a lemondade to drink and for lunch, I had ordered the fish and chips (ordered an extra piece of fish, as I find it delicious) and used chipotle Mayo for my fish and fries......Food took a little long to get to my table, but it was incredible food. The fish was nice and soft in texture and VERY flavourful.....It was a very delicious meal. I am impressed with how well they made thier fish and chips taste....it was just terrific
The service was great....had small talk as well with my waitress who was friendly.....
I just wish that when they show kick boxing, that they would change the channel (at least the other Red Robin's restaurants do when a patron asks) but fortunatly, there was no kick boxing on this time
I really only came here for their burgers. I've had other things on the menu and they all barely qualified as decent. Actually scratch that. Their onion rings and caesar salad are good.
Anyways now even their burgers don't taste quite as good anymore. I've generally stuck to either the Bacon Cheeseburger, Guacamole Bacon Burger, Shroom Burger or the Whiskey Burger. They've must've changed their patties as the last handful of times I've come here the patties tasted bland as if fillers had taken the place of all beef (or whatever) patties. It resembled biting into a boiled piece of pork. The Shroom burger is nothing more than a large helping of mushrooms swimming between 2 pieces of garlic butter soaked buns. The Guacamole is just softened avocado lumped across the patty. All in all a chain place that isn't really worth the trip anymore.
I never really liked the decor with it's brightly coloured booths with dim lighting and the use of red neon lighting throughout with the oddly placed greenery. They have quite the patio but only to be wasted on with the subpar food.
Servers are nothing to shout about but consistent in all aspects.
I'm beginning to think this place is best for drinks.
Well, it wasn't our choice this time, else we'd never wander into here. It's hard to believe places like this are still alive.
Okay, so the service was relatively decent, no complaints there. The place, well, old-style diner (not 50's or 60's old but 80's I guess).
The food? Almost entirely burgers. A few sandwiches here and there and a couple of pasta dishes. It's like a time capsule from my youth. Unchanged for decades. The fried cod burger was half decent. The lamb burger would've been given a good run by a reasonably seasoned piece of cardboard. Everything was more or less waaaay too salty and far out of line with what most other places in town offer now. We also noticed the "kids" menu offered bottomless soft drinks. Really? Seriously?
Come on, if I wanted a good burger, I would head to Vera's or any of the other burger joints and pay 75% of the cost. If I wanted a good mix, I'd do better by stopping by White Spot, geeze or even BP. Which leads me to wonder ... who still eats here? Don't waste your tummy space.
I was in the area & decided to try the West Broadway Red Robin. I have a new home, love it, great service, friendly, and the food was delicious. Its bright, cheery, big patio, spacious and large windows.
I had to have their chocolate milkshakes, its not often I drink them, but Red Robin is known for their great shakes. It did live up to how I remembered them, so it was the right choice. I did order wings, tasty, delicious and need lots of napkins.
My server was friendly, quick, kept checking on me, and he was a very nice server. I got converted to liking this location, since the last time I was Red Robin, I got horrible service. The staff was rude, clueless, kept bringing me the wrong order, the food was cold, the manager didn't handle the complaint and left me not wanting to come to any location.
Thank you West Broadway, my experience was positive and I'll be back to your location. The other Red Robins could learn customer service from your store.
Highly recommend it.
I usually try to avoid chain places in favor of smaller mom and pops establishments. Anyways, sometimes it's unavoidable and I just end at a chain.
Anyways, I'm sure most of the population has been to a Red Robins, so the quality is the same as what you'd expect. It was the service that really irked me. The servers were no where to be found when we wanted something (refill of water/drinks, change of utensils, slow arrival of food). It's not really a reflection of the entire chain, but probably a good reflection of this location.
Will never be back (to this location at least).
Last week, 5 of us decided it would be nice to go out for dinner. The plans were made last-minute, so we didn't have any reservations. We wanted a place that would be good and within walking distance from our friend's house at Oak and Broadway. When my friend suggested Red Robin, I didn't want to go there. It was quite an unfair decision. All I knew about Red Robin was what the sign looked like. It looked like Denny's. And boy, do I hate Denny's, with it's overpriced bottom-of-the-barrell food and dense service.
Luckily, I was outvoted, so we ended up heading towards Red Robin. As soon as we walked in, I knew this was no Denny's. The design was classy yet familiar, with a lot of woodwork and pressed tin ceiling. The view of the city from the north side of the restaurant is fantastic. Even though we were a group of five with two babies, we were greeted warmly and given a primo circular booth.
The menu was simple: burgers, burgers, and more burgers; chicken burgers, beef burgers, veggie burgers, fish burgers -- they even had a burger-stuffed quesadilla on the menu. There were a few other options at the bottom, but Red Robin was clearly a place for burgers, and so a burger it would be for me. I ordered a california chicken burger which came with what was touted on the menu as "our famous bottomless steak fries." I was suspicious about the claim -- I doubted the fries would be good, and I thought there would probably be a hassle when it came to asking for more. When the food came, the burger did not dissapoint. The chicken portion on my burger was large and well-grilled, although the guacamole was a little too garlicy for my taste. Overall, it was a delicious burger.

I like their burger. It's solid, tastes great (I would recommend Five Alarm.)
The service is horrifying. I walked in there with my girlfriend, took them 10 minutes to even give us a glance. I would say it's more of the manager's fault than the servers. The servers were friendly enough, and the food came relatively fast.
Ambiance is not for everyone, and it may be a bit pricey for the small meal. (bottomless fries, but...who fills themselves up with fries?)
Went to Red Robins for Dinner, it's great as always. Service was quick and friendly. Server came back twice to see if our meal was alright. Quick with drink refills too. I ordered the Mesa Chicken Salad, which is always good here. Not the same result at other Red Robins Restaurants around town. I would say this place is the best of them all. My only problem with this place is the Washroom. They really have to do something about it, they don't have hot water in the taps, and, it's always a mess in there. Other than that, this place is great and I love coming here.
Honestly, people don't make an account to post about a restaurant unless it really pisses them off. This, unfortunately is one of them.
I'll be very brief: food was fine, but service was absolutely wretched
- When ordering drinks, server either forgot drinks or brought them close to the end of the meal
- When bringing food, failed to notice that there were no napkins or cutlery
- After trying to flag down the server, we had to go get the napkins and cutlery ourselves from the counter
- Entered in the wrong order on the final bill
- Brought the person who's birthday it was the sundae after everyone was about to leave (we weren't expecting it after the service we just had), and was told to "have [their] friends sing the song to [them]"
This is absolutely unacceptable service by ANY standard. Red Robin, your burgers and fries are solid and your location is relatively pleasant, but service like this will drive me far, far away to any other competing burger joint that can at least bring me my utensils. You can keep the change, thanks.
After all, Red Robin is Red Robin..... they serve burgers. They are not the best burgers you ever eat, but they are solid. But what happened to so-called bottomless fries???? When I ordered my burger, I could count the number of fries with both my hands... they were only about 9! I had to order extra fries twice to get the volume they used to give. Stingy.
Service varies depends on which servers you get. All of them are "nice" but some of them are really slow. Perhaps a good idea to ask for a pitcher of pop beforehand so you don't have to wait for the server to come and ask to get your refill.....
For the money, this is one of the best (if not THE best) restaurants in the neighbourhood. They make a damn good burger, and they'll top it with pretty much anything you would ever want. Their steak fries are very tasty, and free refills are included if you're really hungry. Though burgers are their specialty, they do a fine job of the standard pub appetizers, and many of their non-burger meals are quite tasty as well.
Service is excellent every time. The servers are always polite, cheerful, and attentive. Substitutions and special orders are accepted without flinching.
There are no miracles here as far as culinary skill goes, but at their prices you'd be a fool to expect otherwise. If you want a nice place to sit and eat a decent, well-priced burger in Fairview, you won't beat Red Robin.
It was sad to see some prices raised, such as on their 'freckled lemonade,' an old favourite of mine.
To put it short, service wasn't great, and when we tipped under 10% (which we rarely ever do,) our server had the nerve to ask for atleast a 10% tip. How insulting and embarrassing on both parts.
Usually I enjoy this restaurant for a quick lunch, but do not believe I will be back to this location.
I love their burgers. Their food is generally very good. cant copmplain about service, it is friendly and great. Ambience is nice and seating is comfortable. The only problem is last time my buddy ordered their towering onion rings and i think the chef unloaded a whole bag of salt on them. We had to go check up for kidney stones afterwards. But other than that, i love the fact that their drinks n fried are bottomless. Once in a while their food is slow to come out.
Yes, the menu consists of mainly burgers. Although their burgers are delicious, their chicken parmageano penne, macho nachos, chicken wrap, and french onion soup do not disappoint either. The service is incredible. Often, when my food is late or the order was wrong, I would have my food on the house or half priced. They really value their customers.
BTW, their Freckled Lemonade is the BEST!
Went there just for a quick bite to eat with a friend. Got the usual bbq chicken wrap with clam chowder and my friend had macho nachos. I think they started to get cheap on the chicken because I swear I could barely taste the chicken in my wrap. The soup was good as usual but could've been more hot. My friends nachos didn't look good at all and there was barely any chicken on hers either. Server was alrite, didn't check on us much and basically paid way more attention to the table right next to us. All in all, would just go to another location if I was craving red robins.
I took my 5 year old daughter out to this place because I thought she'd like the menu - at this age not every restaurant fits that bill. A waitress came by to get our drink order, later returned for our food order, and served my daughter a plate of mac & cheese with melon on the side. This wasn't what she ordered, it was supposed to be carrots and ranch on the side. Although melon on the side was acceptable, she had ordered it directly with the waitress and I wanted to reinforce her choices.
I flagged the nearest staff member and told them that the order was wrong. This server assured me that my daughter could keep the melon and shall get her the carrots. A moment later she received a side order of carrots, but now with no ranch sauce. Again trying to reinforce her choices because she wanted her meal herself I had to flag down another server for the ranch sauce. At this point I still haven't looked at my food and we finally get that straight.
I was still unsure who was our waitress for our table, when the 2nd one who originally got the carrots for us with no sauce, comes by to ask me if I was related to some random Chinese guy that she knew. I bemusedly smiled and said no. By the way, Chinese people do not all look alike.
We finish our meal and wait patiently for my daughters ice cream which is served with her kids menu. With our napkins on our plates waiting for it, we instead receive a folder for our bill. I again assert to the waitress, the 2nd one who now appears to be our server, that my daughter would like her ice cream. With that completed, we get our bill and I pay 15% (although the service was worth about 5%).
The restaurant was full of families and children, but this isn't a place I'd recommend or go back to myself. After revisiting the experience here in my review, I spent the entire dinner interrupting the staff to get my little girl's order right.
Someone recommended this place to my friends and I a few weeks ago...What I didn't anticipate was, after an hour and a half, leaving without ever getting our food.
I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life. But my experience at this place was extraordinary! When we first placed our orders, we were the first people in the place and noticed that there was a large party getting ready to sit down. We asked if we could put our order in before them. The waitress said ok. And then she left for 15 minutes to take their order instead of ours. Super.
Finally we placed our order.
25 minutes later, it came out wrong.
5 minutes after that, it came out wrong again.
And again.
And again.
After waiting for an hour, and still with no success in ordering an APPETIZER, we called over the manager. He assured us that he put in the correct order. (for the 5th time). And then he vanished.
After another half hour our waitress basically told us that our food was never coming and told us to probably leave because she really didn't know if our food would ever show up from the kitchen. At this point, it was 2:00. They couldn't turn a table to save their lives, and we started joking with fellow diners about being stuck like a bunch of hostages.
Unless you are some sort of masochist, avoid at all cost.
I've been to many burger joints in Vancouver, and Red Robin is one of the best. Their classic cheeseburger is big, delicious and very reasonably priced. The fries (or in my case the caesar salad) on the side are great too. The service is always cheerful, prompt and efficient. The patio here is nice too in the summer with some good views of the city. The only downer for me is the severe lack of quality beer on tap and the garish interior. But, this is a road house restaurant and I'm just here for the burgers.
I went to this restuarant with my girlfriend last summer, the service was terrible. The manager/owner was yelling at someone, and when i complained about waiting so long for our food, he told us that we could leave or wait. The food was hardly anything special. It was overdone burger with no taste. There were little kids screaming and making it sound like daycare. Why do people think we want to hear their little terrors? We will never go there again, and wouldn't be surprised if it closed soon.
The food here was very awful.
I ordered the fish and chips and must I say, I was extremely disappointed.
They were burnt and the fries were like rubber. My brother ordered a burger
and his feeling of the burger was it was like sawdust. Disgusting. The service was okay. I was there for my birthday party and they made me stand on a chair against my will to sing an embarrassing happy birthday.
I recomment going to the White Spot instead of here.
