Railspur Alley Cafe is a casual, funky spot located on Granville Island. Go on a Thursday night to enjoy live jazz music.
There's really no place in the public market at Granville Island that serves much of a breakfast. Too bad for those of us shopping there in the mornings who might like to start our foray with a nice, full breakfast now and then. To this end, we tried Railspur Alley Cafe which is on Granville Island and reasonably close to the market. However, it didn't measure up. In addition to the usual baked goods, they serve up a couple of egg dishes that aren't too bad but that's about it. The diced potatoes served with our order looked and tasted like they were from the freezer. Coffee service was, at best, sporadic and we had to wait forever for our bill. The server was friendly enough but seemed ill trained. When I gave her a $20 bill for our $15 meal, she asked me if I needed any change. I think you can guess my answer.
