Value/bargain dim sum. 2.00-3.00 per plate. Push cart service on the weekends. Super busy on Sundays - a favorite for locals.
Queen's Park is a dim sum diner complete with peeling pink walls and gaudy flower paintings. The food is decent, not great; I suspect they use lots of MSG by the way I felt afterwards. It is very reasonably priced, the bill was 19 dollars for 3 of us and I don't think I could eat another bite.
Operating in a building that was formerly the home of the original Sun Sui Wah, Queen's Park does not live up to the reputation of the more reputable ex-tenant, but does well in offering its own very affordable style dim sum and dinner menus. I have come here most often for dim sum, and at only 2.00 per plate, there is very little to complain about. I mean, sure, sometimes the shu-mai or har-gow may stick together due to the likelihood that they were steamed in their frozen state (no thawing) but thats fine. And perhaps their shrimp dumplings aren't as big and juicy as their competition, but thats fine too.
Although the decor and paint on the walls can use a little improvement, I actually enjoy the fact that the entire restaurant is pretty much surrounded with large glass windows - letting the airiness and light in that is Main Street.
Overall, I can see this place being a mainstay with locals and families looking for a casual dim sum brunch/lunch. A solid and affordable dim sum experience.
If you like Dim Sum this is a good place to try. With most dishes priced at $2 a pop, it's affordable and tasty. The cart service was prompt, and frequent with our first dishes served before we even sat down. I will definately be back for more.
My friends and I loved coming here for our yearly reunions as it was one of the few dim sum joints that allowed you to sit forever (over 2 hours+) to eat and socialize - to the chagrin of others waiting for a table. I personally would leave after the meal was over if there were people waiting for a table but my friends are another story! Anyway dim sum was cheap and cheerful but the one thing that bothered me was cleanliness; washrooms were atrocious: dirty and smelly :(
The dimsum is absolutely delicious, at $2/plate. Dinner selections are vast and abundunt, the food is always hot and tasty,
I recommend this place anytime!
I love the old school traditional push carts for dim sum.
All of the food is cheap and good!! There isn't a huge selection of stir fry dishes but all of the ones on there menu are great!
It's extremely busy on Sundays. So you might have to make reservations ahead of time or be expected to wait for seating.
