Picnic is located in Meinhardt supermarket and is a cool place to relax and enjoy a panini or one of many salads and a drink from the espresso bar.
To many to name.....the picks at Picnic are worthy of several return visits.
Its reputation as one of Vancouver's hidden gems persists and fear of long line ups and a loss of secrecy starts to set in when out of town visitors start suggesting a visit to Picnic for lunch...... " Whaaa? You've heard of it?"
Sandwiches bigger than your appetite, sweets to savour even a dentist and the best Miso house dressing to turn anyone vegan; all participate to make this picnic table lunch experience a favourite.
French Toast Ham and Cheese Sandwich (yes French Toast!)
Butter Chicken Wrap / Baby Spinach Salad with Miso Dressing
Breakfast Burrittos and English Muffins
Individualized Cheese Cakes with Fruit Toppings.
Pecan Pie anyone???
and Pretty Iced Cupcakes ~ too bad the recipe changed a few years back
(still pretty just not as tasty)
i walked by the window and was beckoned in by the half-metre piece of cake...all chocolately with pink icing. it was chocolate cherry; i wasn't disappointed. $7 for a piece of cake is pricey, yes, but i'd rather pay the $7, eat half or a quarter of the piece, take it home and eat it later, than buy a whole cake and feel the guilt and sorrow later.
