Authentic Vietnamese cuisine
This is a whole in the wall place. I have driven by it many time and have always wanted to try it out as it seems like there is always people waiting outside, but this place isn't really that big.
I went a couple of times and everytime, I see the same lady. Nicest thing alive. She gives great service! I think the food is pretty tasty there as well. For the amount food, it was not expensive at all.
Love it! Will definatley go back!!!
I've driven pass this place on numerous occasions and have never really thought to drop by. It is a small little corner restaurant that can seat probably 15 people maximum and it was very busy when I went for lunch. It seemed as if this place has a steady flow of customers and I can see why.
I had a Large bowl of pho (no. 1) and it came quickly. It was one of the better bowls of pho that I've had. The broth was good, the noodles were good and they did not skimp out on the beef/meat.
I also had their spring rolls. They were crispy and delicious. There were 3 people working there that day and one of them worked in the front, one worked in the kitchen and one rotated. The service was quick and friendly and the food was good.
I will certainly come back and try their viet subs as I hear they are good here. Unfortunately, after the large bowl of pho and the spring rolls, I was stuffed with some left over as well.
Let me tell you first off that I have tried many Vietnamese restaurants from all over East Van, Burnaby and Surrey. The broth for their pho is very tasty and not very salty at all. The first thing I do when I get my pho is I taste the soup to see how salty it is. The noodles and everything else in the pho is good too. I have also had the subs here and this is my first choice for subs. They cut the carrots a lot thinner than other places so the taste of it is not so overwhelming. I get the feeling they care about how their food taste because at the end the guy actually asked me, "how was everything?" If you're not too familiar with Vietnamese restaurants or any asian restaurant for that matter, they never ask cause they don't want to know. I've been driving past this place for the last 2 years and never went in cause I'm always skeptical of newer Vietnamese restaurants opening in unusual spots. My only complaint is that it's small and your conversation can be heard by anyone in the restaurant. Definitely glad I decided to try it and you should too.
