This part of East Hastings has an abundance of Vietnamese restaurants but this is always the one I go to. It's bigger than the other ones and very clean. The people here are friendlier too and greet you when you come in (though don't expect service like you'd get from a big downtown restaurant).
The food is good and cheap. I really like the pho, the broth is light and doesn't have an overpowering taste of MSG. The bean sprouts and the leaves are very fresh. I also like their spring rolls. I often do takeout and when I get the combo (grilled pork with noodles, salad, spring roll and pop - I think it was $8.50 before taxes) I didn't want a drink as I don't drink pop and have water at home. They offered an extra spring roll instead of the pop which I thought was a nice gesture as I wasn't expecting it.
