UBC location of the Pearl Fever Teahouse chain, serving both hot and cold blended fruit and tea drinks, both with milk and without. Tapioca pearls or coconut jelly can be added to any drink for an extra charge. A limited range of desserts, such as cheesecake and creme brulee, are also available.
The atmosphere is above average compared to other BBT joints. No boxes in the hallways, very clean restrooms, clean (if not ridiculously busy) seating area, and modern.
The service is almost always friendly. Better than any other BBT place. Some barristas are extremely fast and fun to watch.
The pearls are done right, might not be the best, but you can tell they do it right at least.
The drinks have a good variety. And they are done well. You can also ask the server to modify the dirnk in many ways to suit yourself.
The prices are going up, but it seems out of necessity. The gift card deal is great, it comes to buy 5 or 6, get one free.
I'm not going to say the best, but definitely my favorite.

This place is pretty nice, lots of selection on their menu. Good, quick pearl tea and super friendly staff. I also like their card program, you get a free bubble tea for every $25 you put on the card. Only thing, I wouldn't really stay in to drink it, it's a little noisy. Overall nice place, though! :)
After being to many bubble tea place in Vancouver, this place really stand out. They go better the typical bubble tea house. Better service, they smiles and don't act like they annoyed when customer come. The bubble tea is fantastic and they keep the place clean. Musics is usually upbeat. They even have Caucasians and east Indians working there! Feels like they take bubble tea to a more international level. They make the drinks fast, especially the blond, blue eye guy... he is hot and charming ^^ ^^ *sigh I go there lots now since I am in UBC.
I really enjoy the bubble tea here, and always enjoy the selection and quality.
They have fresh fruit options with a range of things, such as blueberry, strawberry, red bean, mango, etc, so one can have a less sugary more fruity thing if they want.
If you want half sweet you have to say it twice or more.
Haven't tried the deserts but they look pretty crappy.
the cheesecakes are pretty good. i especially like the coffee chunk version, but others, like tiramisu, white chocolate berry, etc, are pretty yummy as well. they can be eaten in or taken out, and are very affordable.
green/black teas and milk teas are all good. i personally prefer smoothies, and as the previous review said, they do use real fruit in some of them. in my opinion, it is much more affordable than the juice place just around the corner. customers have the option of adding more or less sugar, which is awesome, as well as less ice, etc.
definitely the best place to get bubble tea in the UBC area.
