What can I say about their croissants. Crispy on the outside, buttery and chewy on the inside. They are completely ridiculous and amazing with coffee (which they also make well). But don't stop there. They make fantastic sandwiches, waffles and pastries. They are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for here.
I usually come here on my way to work, when it's just opening. So although they haven't run out of anything (not to mention it's super fresh), they haven't finished making everything either lol!
Either way, I'm happy with what i can get (anything vegetarian),although my favourite is the green onion and cheddar. I make waffles at home and although they are good, they are not as yummy as these waffles!!
If you are in the area, it's definitely a great place to stop for a yummy snack!
I love to stop by this place on the way to Granville Island, or when I stop in at BarbaraJo's.
The belgian waffles, and the croissants are fantastic (although I'm not a fan of their liege waffles... not a fault of poor execution, I just prefer the lighter belgians over the heavier and denser liege waffles).
Be sure to get there early (before noon) when the selection is best.
D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. waffles! Take the time on a nice Saturday morning/afternoon to relax in one of their few seats available while anticipating the arrival (go to the counter to pick up yourself) of your freshly warmed strawberry belgium waffle with blueberries and whipped cream! Can't find any fault in their lightly crisped waffles and fresh fruits. If you don't have the room in your stomach to add on a few pastries, buy them to go! Love their rice pudding pastry and croissants, etc. Their lemon tarts are nowhere as good as Sen5es' lemon tarts but they're still alright.
Love their hot chocolate! Not your typical instant Carnation powder hot chocolate that a lot of places seem to use for default (which is not so bad actually). It actually tastes like they use a nice darker cocoa variety (never stood around to watch them make it so I can't say for sure--and have yet to get around to inquiring about it).
Makes for a great brunch before walking up W. 4th for a nice day of shopping!
What has happened to one of the best pastry shops in town? They used to stock a wonderful selection of really good pastries - pain au chocolat, eclairs, etc. Now all I see are waffles, waffles, waffles, and the odd sandwich. I guess the [profit margin on waffles must be good. What a shame.
I come here all the time, minimum once a week and every time I come here he always have perfect waffles, at least perfect for all the savory waffles. Other than the regular savory waffles, I also tried their brie chicken waffle sandwich and it was also very good. If you love eating waffles or even having some breakfast, you should come here and give it a try, just make sure you don't come on Sundays cuz they will be closed.
Found out late in the week that the family was hoping I'd take care of desserts for Thanksgiving dinner... what to do? Serious worry time. Had a lot to live up to since it was always the hubby's gran who made desserts (away for the holiday this year). What to do?? Then I remembered the yummy waffles and treats my boss brings in on the occassion. YEAH!!! I called and asked if they had any of their yummy pumpkin tarts left and asked for 7 to be put aside for pick up. The lady on the phone was sooooo nice! "Not a problem" she tells me. "Would I like anything else?" " Did they have any stuffed waffles I asked?" "Sure! What would I like?" Likety split just like that I had Thanksgiving desserts. We get there to pick up our order and the place is hopping busy! The service? Fantastic. Made sure we were happy with the items before they were closed up in a box... asked if we wanted the whipped cream on the side or on the tarts and then asked if on the side was ok because the tarts were still warm out of the oven!! Talk about a heavenly scent that was in the car!!! We were drooling and telling each other not to have one. Good thing for the extra waffles we got for snacking on in the car! Oh.. the stuffed waffles didn't make it to Thanksgiving dinner.... the tarts will be but the waffles are already gone. Everyone was thrilled with them. Very good and will absolutely be back again and again!!!
I love this place.
The best thing they serve are their grilled waffle sandwiches. In particular, though I think this is no secret, the chicken and brie waffle sandwich is amazing. I also quite like their cream cheese danish, rice pudding pies and belgian waffles with fruit and custard. Only downside is that their good stuff is usually gone by later in the afternoon, so try and get there early.
For $3 I got one of the best waffles in the city. I started off with the lemon glazed waffle sprinkled with white chocolate. Followed by an apple custard filled waffle, usually I find this too glaringly sweet but, this was the right amount of sweetness.
Atmosphere:
Very cozy and, friendly kits like atmosphere.

I am a fan!
The food here was great and it is next to a nice little bookstore and a nice place to get cheese. There are also fancy car dealers on that road and apparently an everyman for himself attitude when it comes to driving. Maniacs. The only problem I had was that I had the feeling the fruit in my waffle (yes, a stuffed waffle) was canned or processed in some way and I thought it would be better with fresh fruit.
