Panz Veggie serves authentic Asian vegan and vegetarian cuisine specializing in ethically cooked food with fresh produce.
Food has a "clean" taste reflecting the fresh ingredients and simplicity in preparation. Flavours are simple but good without the greasiness commonly associated with Chinese food.
Seasonality of veggies means not all menu items are available when you order, which we found out one night and was a bit disappointing.
Not much ambiance here. Most of the furnishings, decor and layout of the restaurant are leftover remains of the predecessors that occupied the space (a high end italian restaurant - name escapes me).
Service can be a bit slow because there is usually only one server in the entire place. This is a small operation.
Value appears a bit on the expensive side for Chinese food and the modest portions but justified by the quality.
As a non vegetarian, I resisted this restaurant because I like my meat dishes. I am glad that I went and tried it as I have been back 3 times. Sheila the owner really cares about what she puts out of the kitchen and wants her customers to leave satisfied. I have left full and the food tasted clean and fresh. the ambiance is calm and clean. the service is respectful and I am glad that I overcame my lack of wanting meat at all meals. I will be bringing back friends. enjoy.
