Panne Rizo Bakery Cafe offers a wide variety of baked goods such as breads, cookies, pies, muffins and cookies that are 100% wheat and gluten free.
I was on Friday 16 of Octobere there, with my wife and her sisters. The food was delicious and the waiters ok. There was also a waitress, I can’t remember the name, I know only she has Russian origin, who was very kind and cute. In a few words, it was ok. Also the prices are ok, for that zone. As I saw, the opinions are already so good for this cafe. You have to visit yourself to see that the things are good and they have some different new items.
I have tried a few gluten free breads, but the brown rice bread from here is the best I've had. The only kind so far I have experienced fresh enough that you can eat it with just some butter like any other type of fresh bakery bread. Getting the brown rice bread when it is totally fresh and making a sandwich out of it at home is pure bliss. I never thought I'd experience bread this good again after finding out I had to give up wheat/gluten.
The baked goods here aren't cheap, but they aren't a lot more than what you'd pay at a regular bakery with similar quality. Besides you save your receipts and use them for a deduction on your income taxes. The core team of owners/bakers are very friendly and provide good service. Yeah the service from their newer hires sucks sometimes, but they are a busy place and there's a labour shortage right now. This has caused them to be closed on numerous Sundays without any notice unfortunately. Its sad when I want a fresh muffin fix on a Sunday afternoon.
Speaking of which the muffins here are awesome and often sell out early. Get there early on Saturdays particularly. The Saturday only cinnamon rolls are pretty good, but for the money they cost I'd stick with the fresh muffins. Their chocolate chip ginger cookies are to die for. It is good I don't live near Panne Rizo because I would be a lot poorer and a lot fatter if I did!
This place has truly awesome gluten free treats. I've tried brownies, crunchy cookies, little cinnamon pastry delights, berry pie and - believe it or not - baguette. Unbelievable. The prices are so totally worth it - the eggs are free range, and I for one am happy to pay for that kind of quality. Will be back again and again.
