Oscars is a great place to sit and chat with friends or watch your favourite sporting event over some beer and wings. Daily specials like 39 cent wings on Wednesdays and $3.99 burgers on Tuesdays.
I went to Oscars for the first time this past Wednesday to try out their 18 cent wing wednesdays. My friends go every single week at 8pm and this time was the first I'd joined them. They weren't kidding when they say cheap wings! A pound of wings (about 12) will only set you back $2.16!! As long as you purchase a drink, any kind, you can order as many orders as you please. One can get really full for $10 on 3 baskets of wings and a pop!
There were some downsides though. I found the wings to be over-dressed making for a sloppy meal. Luckily they supply you with plenty napkins. And for "wing wednesdays", there weren't very many wings. Majority were drumlettes and even though the pieces were on the small side, I can't complain for only $2.
We also ordered nachos with spicy beef. The platter was huge, but I would like to see more toppings on it. The good thing about it was they load up on the salsa and sour cream. Guacamole is extra.
Went to this pub for Sunday afternoon meal. Had the chicken wrap and my friend had the Brie burger. Both were very good and service was good. Got our meals and drinks very quickly. I would go back. They had a 2 pieces of fish and chips for $5.99. Lots of people were ordering and they looked good but we did not have this. I think i may try their wing night as this sounds like a good deal. I think they are 39cents for wings. They place was not full but it was sunday afternoon. Lots of TV's and lots of football being played. Coffee was not bad also. The waitress was excellent.
We decided to try out this pub since we moved to the area and wanted to find a close place for good wings.
From the time we arrived, our waitress was really nice and quick to take our drink orders, and they offered great specials, even for a Saturday night. We really went for wings, but decided to try the party platter to see how some of the other food was. We thought the wings were great, and the other food was pretty good too. It was a very comfortable, warm atmosphere with good attention from the server. The only thing that we didnt like about our experience were the sketchy ppl sitting close to us, but that can happen at any restaurant, especially a pub,
We would definitely be going there in the future for there 29 cent wings!
I work near Oscars and have eaten there 2-3 times per week for the past 2 months.
Good selection of food on the daily specials menu, really inexpensive but really good and with nice portions (2-10 bucks for everything from burgers to steak).
The wing night is good too. Wings are a bit on the small side but who cares for 19 cents you cant go wrong.
Went to Oscars pub with some friends, for wing night.
The place was packed with people watching the game.
Tried all the styles but loved the hot ones the best.
The staff were good in getting us our drinks and food came out in about 15 minutes even with the full house.
Spend about $20.00 on wings and beer.
Tupac would be proud of this place.
Wonderful atmosphere and decor with impeccable service! The food is incredible and offers a wide variety. I loved oscars and can't wait to go back!! their food is great. the wings were hot and fresh. the burgurs were served hot and fresh too. their wings are awesome! i will definitely visit this place again. BEERS ARE GOOD TOO!
I work close to Oscar`s and love to stop there for drinks and/or food after work from time to time. They have a pretty extensive menu as well as daily specials that are great value. The food is consistently well prepared, the portion size are generous and significantly cheaper than other establishments. Service can be on the slow side but at least they are friendly. I`d probably go more often if only they had decent specials on beer...
I went to Oscar's to tray The 19cents and o My good they are so good,
I ordered 3 dozzens and I pay about $7.50 and don't finished they Have Cheap beer too $9.99 for Pichers The Only problem is that if you don't get there early you can't seat any where because the place is to Small they also have Daily specials that for less than $8.00 dollars you get satisfacted And the staff is so friendly Some of the Girls are also Hot and funny well thats my history...so if you don't want to spend to moch Money Oscar' pub is a good place to go
I have been searching Vancouver for a great wings spot for awhile without success and the reviews on this site encouraged me to venture a bit further out then normal. Well the wings are now 29 cents each, still a decent deal but no better then a lot of places downtown. Taste wise they were not the best I've had, really just ok with your typical falvors. The service was fast and friendly - between that and the clientele I really did feel like I was in a small town pub. Looks like they have good deals on sandwiches and burgers but it is going to take a lot more then that to get me on the bus back out there.
Nothing overly complex to note here: Good pub food with fair prices and some fantastic specials. Great wings, and a low key vibe inside - the kind of place with plenty of regular customers. Recommended to anyone looking to swing by a pub for a beer and some lunch or dinner.
I haven't been to oscar's pub for awhile...My recent visit was pretty good. I like the pub because they have lots TV's with good viewing angles and the food is excellent. My friends and i like the environment and current menu, we had wings and the wings were better than most pubs. I highly recommand this pub for anyone who likes good food and good value.
Well, I guess there is one in every crowd.
I was here Friday night with friends (there was 6 in our group) and I have to say, we were not impressed.
When we first arrived, the place was not busy at all. However, it took A LOT of catching the eye of the servers to get some attention. Personally, I'm not a fan of the head craning, eye catching game. You know we're here, we want drinks, we want to spend money, get your rear over here.
At one point a friend of mine got tired of waiting for one of the waitresses to come around and decided to go to the bar himself. When he asked if he could get a drink the bartender snickered "I don't know, can you?" looking over at the waitresses, who were standing at the bar with their back to the room, texting on their cell phones. I guess the answer to that question is no.
I understand renovations are a necessary evil, but the men's washroom was down, leaving the guys just the employees washroom to use, which was frequently locked. It doesn't help matters when some of the male patrons started to use the woman's room.
We're not going back to Oscars. I'd suggest the Old Admiral over this place any day.
