Mrs. C and I were in the DT and we saw this place at the top of the Burrard Bridge. They had tables outside, and it seemed like a good opportunity to enjoy the sun. We walked in and got a menu. There were lots of specials, and we settled on a roll combo and an extra beef teriyaki roll. The ambience was nice, but we were the subject of curiosity by passersby during the meal. The roll sushi was good, with nice big pieces of fish in our salmon and tuna rolls. The California roll was a bit off-tasting, but that may have been the effect of sun and a warm afternoon. The teriyaki roll was okay, but not spectacular. As for the service, it was okay too, but our server disappeared halfway through the meal, and I had to ask the sushi chef to locate her so we could get beverages, and later, to pay. The place looked clean and the sushi chef appeared to be Japanese (if that is important to you). Even the w/c was clean, which on Burrard is a small miracle.
All in all it was only an average experience, but it was convenient sushi when we had the craving.
My wife and I had take out from this place a few months ago and decided we would try it again.
We were greeted by the normal “for here or take out” line expected by me at fast sushi places. The restaurant is painted an interesting green colour and is adequate in its appearance.
The waitress was nice and attentive. She rechecked the order before she left because we made some changes. Tea kept coming and plates cleared efficiently.
The food was good, quick and fresh. Miso and Gyoza to start and then we had a few of the standard rolls, yam tempura, avocado cucumber and shrimp avocado. We also had a couple of specialty rolls. The New York was our fav in this department. I also had the Tuna Tataki and a few pieces of salmon. Both were good.
The bill came to just over $40 for two and my wife and I agreed that we could have done without a few of the rolls because we were so full. So $30 could have done the trick, but we always order too much sushi.
We will go back when we are in the area.
I was there for dinner with some friends yesterday. This place is very comfy and clean, even the washroom, which I was surprised.Waitesses were friendly and attentive.
We really enjoyed the sashimi we ordered. It was very fresh and well presented. We also ordered a few special rolls. They were very flavourful with just the right amount of rice.
Overall, this place is really great. The price and portions are very fair. We're very much looking forward to going back again in a couple of weeks.
Always fresh sushi, always friendly service. Usually really quick, as well. The meals (specials) are tasty and they have seating outdoors in the summer, which is nice - not perfect, since you're on Burrard Street, but better than sitting inside, which is what you'll do anywhere else in the area.
Only complaint is I saw the sushi chef smoking while cleaning up inside one night. Kind of gross. Not sure if the food was already put away or not, but you'd think you could wait the extra 15 minutes to keep the place cleaner.
They have nice new Rolls right now. I really like the Mango Star and vegetable friendly, Those feel like spring and fresh. mmmmm..........my wife likes crunch roll and Ireland Roll! she enjoyed the Prawn. oh yep, they has the App, snow roll, nice small app for start,
They also have faceook and website. you can check those nice pics on their facebook, then u will reallu want to go there.
