"Keep It Real...", that's the Original Joe's philosophy. There's a buzz going on all around and you understand what it's telling you. You can feel the pace, the energy, and the effortless flow of people having a good time.
Food and drinks that satisfy, familiar faces, great conversations. So whether it's lunch, dinner or late night, Original Joe's is your place to keep it real.
I remember coming to this place and enjoying their Monday meat specials, but the prices are just heartbreaking and the food quality has substantially declined.
Why would anyone want to pay over $8 for a mediocre sandwich?
Their bruschetta seems btw to be a better bet, as it leaves you with a bit fuller belly, and the beer is constantly running, but Original Joe's isn't really that original any more, and the food just doesn't warrant the prices.
Makes me feel sad for the staff.
Had lunch here yesterday. Food was OK nothing spectacular. Too much food and too pricey. Service was really good. Booth backs covered the view of the city, especially for the location! Not busy at all and I guess that is because of the construction. Don't understand that!!!
I come to OJ's with a friend when we want to see a game. I am in love with a specific item here. Food: Full order of Red Tractor nachos with chicken with guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. Service: Good. You can seat yourself whereever you like and servers are attentive. Value: A very cheesy and huge nachos with chicken and guacamole will run you 25 bucks. Very piss poor price but always worth eating all alone once in a while. Recommended.
We quite like Original Joe's. The food is good, the portions are quite large, for the price....always go home with a doggy bag. The service is decent and the Patio Joe is a delicious summer drink! Good place to watch a game. Nice Veiw also.
Still exploring the menu for the place, but the food is great if you know what to order. Their salt and pepper wings are second to none in the city! Their beef bones are a steal at a buck each on Sundays and Saturdays. There are specials every day of the week. The view is great and there's TV for those who aren't looking out the window. The other parts of the menu so far are average, but nothing I would call bad.
Original Joe's Restaurant and Bar
It is a very casual low key place conveniently located on the corner of Broadway and Cambie Street just above Dairy Queen. When you come in you will notice that they have a patio outside. So if you want to enjoy the sunshine while sipping on your favorite drink, here's your opportunity. It is a large venue with booths, tables, and sets of couches by the fireplace. Want to shoot some pool while you are there? They have a pool table.
I was there hosting a singles event and found our server very friendly and was able to take care of the group. i was impressed with them in that they were able to accommodate us on such short notice as the venue that I have originally booked didn't work out as it couldn't hold the large group as Original Joe's were. Another thing that I really liked is that there was plenty of parking available either out back or on the streets. So if you are planning for a large group this worked out perfectly.
The food was good and fresh. My friends came afterwards for dinner enjoyed what they had ordered, it hit the spot. Come in and enjoy the daily drink specials. If you do come in and love pineapple and Malibu rum try out their special Joe's slush/bellini drink.

Walking down Broadway on a Beautiful Sunny Day, we wondered WHERE possibly we could eat & enjoy the Sunshine & Heat at the same time, somewhere besides the usual Corporate Mediocrity that is Earl's/Moxie's/Joeys or The Cactus Club (which is the better of all the evils however); we finally came up with Original Joe's.
After Immense Renovations over the last 3 years, it looked nothing like we remembered it at all; now with Plush Comfortable Seats; Pool Table & certainly enough TV's to see any game, what we were after was the Garden Patio high above Cambie Street (how nice to dine outside without being Abused & Accosted by Street People).
Ths sandwiches were outstanding (Joe's Cabin Club) including Crisp Perfectly Seasoned Fries (Dill Dip a MUST), & a Caesar Salad not delived to you by KRAFT, AND with REAL BACON BITS to boot!
The Bill came to $20 (as we were hydrating), even with all our Sides & Substitutions; we would recommend this restaurant anytime of the day.
