Good Indian Food

I was craving some curry and I spotted a few Indian restaurants all with variations of the theme of flavour and India in the same block on Robson. This one had a chicken vindaloo platter for $13.99, so in I went. There were lots of Indian people eating there and that was a good sign.

I soon discovered that they do a good vindaloo. It was just right for hotness, and the naan bread, basmati rice and flavourful chutneys were all terrific. Plus the portion size was quite generous.

I was really impressed with the food, but less so with the service. The cook finally came over to take my order after I tried a couple of times to summon a server. Once I got my order I quickly forgot about that issue.

They have a nice selection of beers and did I mention the vindaloo?

Bit Like a Building Site but Food OK

I will start off with ambiance, generally it was OK apart from some guy putting up shelves when we had just started our meal. The sound of drilling drowned out our voices. Apart from that it was acceptable.

Service was good, probably asked too many times if we were OK but generally quite attentive and the person had a smile.

Food was alright, but nothing really outstanding. We had Chicken Korma, Chicken Tandori, Garlic Naan and Mango Laasi. Certainly enough portions were decent but taste was average, nothing to write home about. I have probably been spoilt but the above average Indian food in London UK.

For an "average" tasting meal the price seemed to be a little expensive.

The big question, would I go here again. Probably if I fancied Indian and if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

Bad service but I don't really care about service I care about the food. If you are on robson and need indian I think this is your best option. Not everyone knows about the room upstairs, much nicer to sit up there if you can (ask).
