Food: Average. Just your usual california rolls. Tuna rolls were decent. This is your average Chinese-run Japanese restaurant.
Service: The sushi took a while to arrive. They seemed a bit pushy, as they asked 'Real crab meat or imitation?' when I ordered a california roll. If I wanted real crab meat in my California roll, I would have asked for it.
Value: Quite overpriced, even for UBC.
Ambiance: Chinese style decorations.
I might be back but I doubt it. They should reconsider their prices.
I went for dinner the other evening. Ordered miso soup and the chirashi don. When the soup arrived, it looked thick and yummy, but it was actually quite tasteless, just hot, salty water. As for the chirashi, for $14.95 I got 2 small pieces of salmon, 2 of tuna, 2 strips of octopus, 2 of egg, 1 prawn and, the worst part, 2 chunks of surimi. Surimi in a roll may be ok, but served as sashimi?? The tuna did not taste fresh and the rice was too acidic and dry, I left most of it. There are plenty of better and cheaper places around town, do not waste your money here.
