Terrible Area and not a soul ever there!

This pub is in one of the worst areas of Vancouver, crackheads and criminals everywhere you look!
We went there to hear my friends band and I don't care how good they are, we'd NEVER go back to On The Edge, no way they'll find many customers in that part of town, plus the bartender didn't know how to make a screwdriver, c'mon it's Vodka & OJ mate, he looked at us like we were idiots.

It was dead, only 2 customers and the sound the girl had going was terrible, avoid this place there are far better spots to catch a drink and a band in Vancouver.

Being long time gastown residents, we were excited to see the opening of a nice new pub in the neighbourhood. We were greatly disappointed by the reality of the new place. Upon our arrival in a very slow time, we were "greeted" by the server as a seeming intrusion and nuisance to his football game. He brought us a couple of pints and proceeded to watch his game with his computer on and back to us. The outcome must not have swung his way because a string of expletives sprung from his lips in a disgusting display. We finished our drinks. paid the cheque, and we are unlikely to return. What a shame!

Had to see for ourselves

Read in Martini Boys about the reincarnation of an old bar in the Gastown area. We were a bit leery of the first review, but we live close by and decided to check it out. The place is nice and spacious, comfortable booths and seats. It was fairly quiet for a Friday night, but hey, they'd only been open for 10 days. The menu presented some unique combinations, but nothing in left field. All at very reasonable prices. We started with an order of hot wings (which ranked in the top three we've had in the city -- and we've had wings all over this city). My partner had the short rib beef stew -- the meat was incredibly tender and the broth was dark and flavourful, but not overpowering. Vegetables perfectly cooked. I had the mushroom bacon flatbread pizza with goat cheese. Very nice crust and great combination of ingredients. Portion was just right. The service was attentive. The chef was nice enough to stop by our table to ask our opinion. It's nice to see them put a lot of effort into to turning what was a dive of a pub into a comfortable hangout in this rapidly changing (for the better) neighbourhood. We'll definitely be back.

Finally a pub with real food!! The menu is quite interesting with things like two-foot long meatball sandwich, corn dogs and braised rib poutine. I tried the poutine and it was delicious. The chorizo "corn dogs" went really well the beer I was drinking. My friend had one of the flatbread pizzas and also enjoyed that. It's unusual to find a "Pub" with tasty, home-made food. The prices were very reasonable as well. I live a couple of blocks away and it is nice to see what the owners have done with the place. Places like this are helping transform the neighbourhood around Cordova Street so I will be going back to support it! The coolest thing about this place is that they have Sailor Jerry rum for $5 (my fav). They also probably have the best tv's in the area. I don't think they are trying to be a sports bar but it is a great place to watch Canucks games.
