the best pizza and most creative toppings. the staff is so friendly and helpful. pizza by the slice makes excellent lunch time goodies. the selection is different everyday so you never have to eat the same thing day after day. i love the specials for lunch which is a slice of pizza and a drink for a very reasonable price. and the calzones are to-die-for!

Whenever I am in the Granville Island area I always try to hit up Olie's Pizzeria. One bite of their thin slice pizza and you will know this is something different and refreshing. Fresh ingredients and lots of variety of toppings to choose from = one tasty pizza. Service is friendly and prompt. Value wise, I will say that you get what you paid for. Definitely give this place a try, you wont be disappointed.

I had a few slices. One of smoky pepperoni, Cajun bird, clams and garlic, and patata and bacon. I don't think i had pizza better anywhere else. And i had pizza from all over the world. I live in a Italian neighborhood and I know what good authentic pizza should taste like. For $3 a slice it's well worth it. There is cheaper pizza but this is gourmet pizza at it's best. $3 is a bargain. If anyone is around the grandville island area, give it a try.

I just started working in the Granville Island area. I noticed a big red sign "OLIES PIZZA". Their pizza is far better than the cooperate pizza chains like Pizza hut and Domino's. They have tasty signature thin crust and an amazing Calzones on the menu. If you want a healthy delicious pizza or my favorite, Calzones, try out OLIES, you won't regret it.

From the other reviews of Olie's Pizzeria, I was expecting "outstanding ambiance" or at the very least, "solid ambiance". But make no mistake about it, although Olie's has tasty and unique pizza, their ambiance is yellow walls, the game blaring from the tv, and 4 bar stools. It's cheerful, it's lively, but it's a pizza by the slice place first and foremost. It is not a trendy, upscale dine-in pizza restaurante.

We ordered two pizzas - Meat and Pepper (Salami, capicollo, with chorizo sausage subbed in for peppers) and California (pesto, feta cheese, spinach, fresh tomatoes, sundried tomatoes) -

The pizzas were quite unlike any pizza I'd ever tasted. The crust was thin and had no droopage when you picked up a slice. The ingredients were very fresh (we watched as they sliced the chorizo sausage off a big stick of sausage for our pizza) but in all that freshness and tastiness we kinda missed the greasy cheesy goodness of "normal" pizza.

In that regard it was a bit pricey for what it was (I needed 4 pieces to feel full - a single slice sells for $3).

The service was a little interesting. We asked if we could substitute toppings, and then the pizza guy answered, yes, we could do a pizza half-and-half. (what?) In the end, he let us sub chorizo sausage for the peppers so it ended up being pretty sweet.

I'm not sure if I would return to this place for a pizza craving, but it is a tasty, light meal that may leave you craving grease cuz it is quite healthy tasting.

GREAT thin-crust pizza

I have been to Olie's a couple of times since they open and I have to say the pizza is some of the best thin crust in the city. Their menu offers some unique quality ingredients that you don't see offered at many pizza places in town. Smoked meats, clams, etc go along with main 'mainstream' toppings.

The pizza is not the most inexpensive in town, however when you look at the quality you are getting it certainly provides great value. I think this is exactly what the Kits/South Granville area needed and I recommend all my friends try it when they are looking for either pizza or takeout.
