Total waste of money. Nice, efficient servers but really no thought or effort put into their food its not the worst food in the world its just so bland. Like hospital food with hot sauce on it. save some money and get a chicken dinner from the safeway deli instead.
Food: I shared the half chicken and 2 regular sides (veggies and peri fries). The chicken was flavourful...a bit on the dry side though. The fries were good, but could have been more 'fresh'- they seemed a tad bit soggy. The veggies were good.
Service: Food came in an acceptable timeframe. You basically just pay at the counter, and they bring you your food. The waiter was kind enough to fix our unbalanced table.
Value: Not cheap, but hey, it's Kitsilano, and it's about 2 blocks from the beach so what do you expect? I'd DEFINITELY go here than go to somewhere like Vera's. The prices here were fair for the location, but still not cheap. (Check their online menu for prices).
Ambiance: Clean. Nice washroom. Outside patio.
Would come back when I'm in the area to try the chicken burger.
I frequently come to nando's as it's on my way home from work, it's convenient if i want something quick and usually made the way i like. The reason i say usually is that when i order..i always specifically ask for EXTRA EXTRA hot and i always repeat this a couple times so they know to the tell the cooks. I'd say 50% of the time they make it as spicy as i like but the other half not so much...that's pretty much my only complaint.
Service is always prompt and friendly, owner seems like a pretty cool guy too. But i guess he has to be to the customers, but i've seem him get mad at his employees a few times too, i guess more so frustrated when training new employees. Pretty much everytime i go there is a new girl at the front in training.
It's fairly priced too, not cheap and not to expensive. I'll keep coming, just wish the chicken was consistently the same in spicyiness! One can only wish!!
When I think of Nando's i always think fast food. That is all this is. Please keep in mind that that's all you get. Dont think that you will get a real tast of Portugal, because you simply dont...

We had a friend who's a picky eater take us to the Kerrisdale location the first time we went so we knew it had to be fairly decent. I was very happy to see signs and construction at the old vet clinic on the corner of Cornwall Avenue & Walnut Street saying that a Nando's was coming. Its a few doors down from the gluten/wheat free bakery Panne Rizo that I go to frequently which for me is a bonus as Nando's offers a lot of gluten free options. This location also offers free underground parking which in that area of Kits is a bonus.
Nando's in general has good chicken at relatively decent prices. I recommend the peri fries they are very good and I am very particular about fries. If I'm going to eat something naughty like fries I want them to be good! There are a good variety of other sides that are more healthy than fries and you can request your chicken skinless as well.
