Waste of time and money

A high-school cafeteria would serve better food. The food quality and preparation was poor; adding insult to injury, the service couldn't get worse. Yet, I had to pay premium prices because I had to grab a quick lunch.

Ordering was an ordeal. The surly "manager" looked greasy and unhappy that more customers were coming in. Another "employee", female, who looked like she was ready to go to a wedding and inappropirately attired to be working at a restaurant, was equally non-chalant about serving customers. A young lady that finally came to help me finally was the only friendly person I encountered. I finally ordered from her, and when she gave me my food, the "manager" had the nerve to shoot her a dirty look and growl to her that I had not paid yet--it wasn't even her fault since he and the other "employee" had already "encountered" me. I use the word "encounter" because they certainly did not help me.

I ended paying about $10 for a soup and "caesar salad wrap with serrano ham."

This is what I really got: a humongous wrap bread with some left-over caesar salad that contained a few bits of unappetizingly shredded bits of ham. The "mushroom soup" was lukewarm and lumpy--yes, like when you dump out a can of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup and then didn't bother to stir it up.

This location used to be run by different owners, under another name. That was a great establishment.

Don't bother going to Lupo. They should pay the patrons for eating there.

Since I work downtown and in the area, I visit this place regularily for lunch. Their Panini's and home made soup are fantastic. Ask for their tomato basil soup it is the best in town.
I have yet to try their breakfast however what they show on their menu looks delicious.
With recent changes to their patio and the owner there daily greeting patrons is also a nice touch. Their service still needs work. I have tried to get my morning espresso from them however since the service is lacking in morning and not an experienced barista on hand I go to Caffe Artigiano to get my morning kick.

What's going on with this place?

Convenient location to where I work, nice seating area and decent coffee, but where is the management and the quality control?

The service varies between inexperienced and rude and at times is non-existent. The menu offerings on the board have decreased dramatically and food served often does not match the description on the menu. It's like they ran out of ingredients, so just prepared the item with what was on hand. Did they fire the chef?

This would be a good location to open a restaurant!

Unsanitary!

Since I go to school half a block away, i have found myself at Lupo's on more than a few occassions. The panini's are quite delicious. However, I can't get over how un-sanitary the place is. After seeing the guy who is usually behind the counter touch his hair, handle money, then pick up my sandwich without washing his hands more than once, I won't be returning - even if it is convienient. Very slow service, also.
