Loose Moose Tapas Bar & Grill

724 Nelson St.
Vancouver, BC V6Z1A8
Tel: (604) 633-1002
Neighbourhood: Downtown
  • Cuisine: Pub, Tapas
  • Price: $ ($15 or less)
  • The Loose Moose can be chaotic, but that’s just part of its allure. Dine for cheap on succulent meatballs in sweet chili sauce, and enjoy the welcoming personalities of the bartenders.

The Moose’s considerable rock ’n’ roll attitude is best on display on Thursdays and Fridays, when the benches are packed and the tunes are pumpin’.

Went for lunch.

So me and a couple of work friends have gone out of our regular lunch hang out circle and found that Granville street has some really good lunch options. This Loose Moose place was an off the path place and a surprise to us. We went on a Thursday where they offer Mini sliders for a buck...epic deal. So worth it, the server was running around but was very polite and attentive. It looks like the entire menu is only $5.95 and they have specials on other days. We will go back and try the other days and report back.

I was here with my friends after work for a drink. The atmosphere is very down to earth, not stuffy or pretentious, which is rare and welcome in the downtown core. It's a bar, and doesn't pretend to be anything else. They play classic rock and have a great mural of Eddie from Iron Maiden in the back.

Keiths was on special, so that's what we ordered for $4 a pint. Great value for DT Van.

Service was apathetic. Our server was attentive when we first got there but became less so as the night wore on and the place became busier. I hate having to wave my hands like a madwoman to get another beer. It would have been nice to see her crack a smile and not slam things on the table either.

Nachos were yummy and piled high with goodness (cheese, hot peppers, etc). Some of my friends had burgers and fries, which were tasty. I had a quesadilla which would have been tasty had it not arrived burnt. The salad it came with was fresh and light.

For an after-work watering hole, it's excellent. Recommended.

Good pub food with an awesome rock vibe. Put your dress shoes away and bring out your sh*tk**kers. The beer flows freely with some sweet sounds of classic hard rock kicking out. Never had a bad time there and from what I can see when I am there neither has anyone else. It gets two devil horn salutes up!
