The Locus on Main Street is an eatery with a funky, grunge interior serving an eclectic menu.
I went to the Locus last night with a friend around 10pm. We were greeted very pleasantly and given a very nice table. The restaurant was pretty empty given that it was so late on a wednesday night. The ambiance was very relaxing and qutie artistic.
Our server was extremely nice!! I didn't catch her name but she went above and beyond what is normally expected and we were so happy with the service. She began by bringing us some of the Locus's homemade potato bread that has a hint of curry, with fresh butter -- DELICIOUS! We liked it so much that we asked the server if we could buy a loaf to take home!
I ordered the vegetable phyllo pastry which came with veggies and rice pilaf. All had very savoury flavours with a bit of intricacy that I didn't expect -- impressive! My friend had their veggie burger, which is also made from scratch at the restaurant, not storebought like many others do. She said it was the best veggie burger she's ever tasted. I can't wait to go back and try that!
We took our time eating and relaxing, were not rushed or neglected. At the end of our meal the waitress brought us a big chunk of their bread for us to take home! We gave her a nice tip and made sure to personally thank her for all of her extra effort.
Will DEFINATELY be back!
Empty tables galore - supposedly all reserved?? Full meal service at the bar. Really good food - one of the best mixed vegetable combinations I have had recently. Better use of space would make it a better experience.
