Only tried slush - it was not up to par

My five year old son is hooked on mango slush.

I saw that this place, beside London Drugs, sells Bubble Tea, so I decided to try it.

I asked the lady for a mango slush with milk- no pearls. I specifically asked the server to blend it well so that there were no large chunks of ice (my son likes a smooth consistency to his slush). The server prepared a powdered drink which was not a slush. It was a watering mango drink with large chunks of ice. Whaaat. I handed it back and repeated my order - Mango SLUSH, with MILK. I also suggested that the ice should have been all ground up to make an actual slush.

She took the drink to the back. She came back with a milk mango drink with large chunks of ice. It was not a slush.

At this time, I gave up - handed the drink to my son.

He did not like it,

I had a taste - it was the worst slush I ever had.

Maybe the rest of their food is better.

I won't be back to find out.

Tiny and Interesting

This place is really small, and is more like a fast food place than a real sit-down restaurant. The food is pretty good and substantial for the price. I had the traditional beef soup noodles, and it was hot and nicely done. One thing I suggest for the owners, though, is that they place some kind of sign to indicate how to order and where to find the menus, etc. It can be a bit confusing for first time visitors.

Good Taiwanese food

I've eaten here a few times when Honolulu had massive lineups for lunch. It's not a huge place, but their food is good. I especially like their stewed pork on rice. The marinated tea egg was especially tasty.

Food here is very fairly priced. The lady that usually serves me is very polite and kind.

I haven't tried their bubble teas as the previous reviewer mentioned - but from the sounds of the trusted source, I don't think I will. Stick to the snacks.

local tea spot

Mrs. C and I were looking for BBT, and we spotted this place nestled beside a big drug store and near a couple of other restaurants. They had a sign offering bubble tea, and so we ventured in.

The place was very clean and the server was friendly and explained that they had 3 kinds of BBT: milk, regular tea, and green tea.

BBT was 3 bucks so we went with strawberry, w/out pearls. The cup was quite big, and it had actual berries in there, but I found it too sweet for my taste. For the price I couldn't complain though.

I also noted the rather extensive menu, and the incredibly cheap price for pork knuckle. I plan a return visit soon for some solid food...

excellent spicy noodles!

I come here a lot for the spicy beef noodle, it's really delicious! It's just a small little place with maybe 5 or 6 tables and you order at the counter, it's very clean and comfortable. I've had some of their snacks too like the chicken knuckles and there good as well. Haven't tried their bubble teas yet . For like $6.50 for a bowl of noodles is a pretty good deal in my book.

The little Taiwanese restaurant with a flavour of its own

For a little restaurant that is hiding in a little corner of a strip mall that is also home to some larger restarant competitors, it must have its recipe of survival. From the outside, this restaurant looks like another bubble tea house. On closer look, it actually has more selections than just cool drinks. It's got a large selections of lighter Taiwanese meals and appetizers. The prices are pretty reasonable, closer to the prices found in a regular food court. I ordered a Pork Leg Shank combo that came with rice, eggs, some beans and cabbage. The combo actually tasted good, but the beans were a little on the salty side and the cabbage was rather bland. With its selections of ethnic Taiwan food and appetizers, I guess this restaurant has found its niche in a competitive market.

Come here for noodles

At first glance from the exterior, this place looks like an average family restaurant. It's true from the outside, but the food is really good. The soup noodles are delicious and warm. The noodle texture is tasty as well as the soup base. I tried the pork intestines the other day and it was yummy. A place to go for a quick hearty meal.
