Lickerish Lounge boasts a chic yet home like atmosphere, a menu of tasty comfort food, creative cocktails and live DJ's.
I hadn't been to Lickerish in probably a decade, so when we saw it on the Dine Out list we decided to go back. Initially we were a little put off by the lounge-ness and some 'bar food' items on the menu when I had a vague memory of a regular restaurant ambience, but we each managed to find something foodie for us that made us happy. As the evening wore on we just enjoyed it more and more, and after leaving we both remarked on how much we ended up really liking it.
The food was really excellent, the alcohol was yummy and quite reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back!
Its been a while since I've been to Lickerish...thinking maybe 2006. Love the new style by what I believe is new management or ownership. A few of us heard about their live music on tuesdays in the 24h newspaper so we decided to set up a ladies night out there. Some advice..make sure you try the spicy prawns! Our server recommended us to get some side bread to dip into the remaining butter sauce..good call! Although she had accidentally rang in the wrong pasta for me the chef was able to cook up the right one fairly quick. They also took care of my first glass of wine to make up for it :). Great food and music. If it only had a dance floor ! Maybe its just me but there's not many lounges left with good music. Vancouver undoubtedly has some amazing food but to have both is very tough for me to find. This is a place worth checking out.
Went to Lickerish last summer and wasn't too blown away by the service or the food. Since then they changed ownership, so decided to give it another shot. The decor was very nice, new paintings. The food was awesome! Had the prawns and chicken strips for appy and the chicken for my main dish. The appies were great, but the chicken (dijon something) was the highlight of my meal.
Our waiter was super friendly and checked up on regularly.
Even got a compllimentry dessert with candle for my birthday!
I will defintly go back and will be recommending Lickerish to anyone I know!
Ive been a fan of the downtown scene for a few years now and I never even knew this place existed ! Checked out the website and drove past to see if parking would be an issue and decided Id do my husbands bday party on the second floor.(Driving by it you wouldnt even know it had a second floor) I was kind of worried about seating being an issue up there since we were planning on having about 30 people. The set up actually worked out very well. They even let us bring in our own bday cake.. Music and service were great..havent heard those songs in ages! mmm the martinis..great selection...good variety of food as well....Definitely going back.
this could be such a great spot but is in need of a make over from top to bottom .Themenu is a mixture of Joey's like potato spring rolls , but here they sell them as a starter? the ret pack art is way out dated and there never seems to be anyone there and I think he is changing chefs at a weekly rate( only if the menu could change that often.
Being new to the area I googled restaurants and found some good reviews for Lickerish so I decided this would be a good place to take my folks and experience some city vibe.
First off, this place is not cheap by any extent. The average entree is $18 or so, which isn't bad... Unfortunately, the size is tiny! Honestly, any normal person will need two.
Second, Its a tiny little hole in the wall with junky steel patio furniture and no good spots inside either. The table outside could maybe sit 2 people, 4 was extremely uncomfortable, and this was their biggest spot!
Third, when the meals finally arrived, mine didn't follow. 35 Minutes passed with the waitress avoiding our table until I received my meal (after several requests). By the time my meal came everyone else was finished... like table cleared, ready for bill finished. The management addressed this issue by offering me a whopping 15% off my entree, not the whole bill or my meal, just my entree. This meant I got $1.90 off for waiting an hour for a dry chicken sandwich. The management had attitude when I expected more and suggested I take it to go...
Anyways, poor real estate, poor management, poor staff.... hmm, won't be going there ever again.
