Really tasty tacos

Finally, there is another location of La Taqueria close to where I live! I got to try it last week and it didn't disappoint.

I ordered the 4 taco combo for just under $9.50 including pescado (fish), de lengua (beef tongue) and a couple others that I can't remember; one was a special of the day. They were all great. The standout was the beef tongue which was very tender and tasty. If you get a chance to try it, do it. Don't let the thought of beef tongue throw you off, its actually quite good.

They have a bunch of hot sauces to choose from ranging in spiciness; all of them are very good with my favourites being the hotter ones. The seating is fairly limited and is seat yourself but they will deliver the tacos when they are ready. The service is very friendly.

Definitely recommended especially if you are taco lover.

Excellent Tacos, Poor Value

I've been to La Taqueria a couple of times now because I think they have the best tacos in the city, but they are also the most expensive. The tacos here are tasty two to three bite affairs packed with great Mexican flavour. They've got your standard choices like fish tacos, asada and carnitas. Plus they bring something different to the table with beef cheeks, beef tongue, and chicken in a chocolate mole sauce.

You order your food from the friendly server at the counter, and a waitress will quickly track you down to deliver your food. There are a variety of sauces and pickles that you can help yourself too. The tacos here are simple and really let the main meat ingredient shine. The restaurant is small, clean and smells delicious. The walls are adorned with pop bottles and there is pretty good music playing. They have an open kitchen which lets you see your food being prepared. This place is packed if you come at lunch time, and you'll probably have to wait in line to order for 10 - 20 minutes.

My only gripe with this place is the price. They have four tacos for $9.50, but keep in mind that these things are tiny. Too me, the four tacos here are just a snack. That's really all I'm looking for in a taco though as I don't think that they alone should make up a meal. Although, there are certainly worse deals to be had around the city.

I recommend this place for the excellent tacos, but some people may feel they are getting a pricey snack, so don't have the expectation when coming here that you will get a filling meal.

Great Tacos

Stopped here for lunch. Service was quick and the tacos were great. I tried 4 varieties chicken mole (ok a little sweet) pork/pineapple (good), lamb (special, very good) and fish (great). Good selection on the self service sauces. If you want a quick and tasty snack/light meal this is the place.

I don't rate "incredibles" often, but when I do.....

I just finished eating four Tacos from La Taqueria. The line up was bordering on horrendous (work day lunch typically doesn't allow for you to wait) but we decided to stick it out. This was our first visit and we while looking at the menu we half laughed at Pollo de Mole's description. I mean a chocolate and chicken taco? you're kidding right?

they weren't kidding and they sure did deliver. Everything was amazing from top to bottom. Delicious, Delicious, Delicious!!!!

this should go to show: take a risk and you can be rewarded!

Best Tacos North or South of El Rio Grande!!!

I lived in Mexico and two of my favourite foods are tacos and mole.

If you are in the mood for tacos, your prayers have been answered! These are the best!!

They have Carne Asada, Mole, Fish and Veggie tacos too. Homemade salsas including an awesome chipotle sauce! 4 tacos are a full meal and will set you back $9.75, considering how good they are in comparison to the rank and file Vancouver taco, it is definitely solid value.

It is nice to get the same great tacos at Cambie & Broadway. I got off the train yesterday just to have the tacos and was NOT disappointed at all!!!

Nice Tacos, Nice place.

I am a poor measure of judgement in terms of Mexican food, because i've rarely tried authentic mexican foods since it's such a rarity to find any in vancouver, if any was available.

having said that, i felt and it tasted like authentic mexican tacos and were quite good.
however i felt the portions were a bit small and for 9.50, i would expect just a bit more - maybe a drink would have made it nice or even a side of some sort.

girlfriend and i threw $30 at this place for dinner and we were still hungry afterwards since for $30, i would say the portion is about the same as 3 big macs. these tacos are not big i mind you - tiny, 1 bite tacos. we basically ordered 12 tacos in total.

overall, i would visit or recommend this place again if:

1. i don't have a big appetite - and for a 6'3 guy that's kind of hard.
2. you're a girl who doesn't have a big appetite
3. seeking authentic mexican food
4. don't mind spending more for good quality fast food, albeit small portions.
