Went to La Quercia for a dinner on a late Sunday night and was surprised to see the restaurant full of patrons. Reservations are a definite must since this place seems to be busy. The servers were friendly, charming and courteous. The items on the blackboard above the kitchen serving area was a bit dim and difficult to read in the current lighting setup. Furthermore, i found it a little bit trying to hear my partner during our dinner as conversations from the other patrons seemed to bounce around quite a bit. The food was served quickly on warmed plates and was quite tasty. The pasta appears to be made in-house (which is expected of an italian restaurant) with just the right about of sauce. Overall, I had a great dining experience and would like to come back with a larger group of people to try a bit of everything on the menu.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this tiny little gem, my boyfriend and I went last night for our anniversary dinner and ordered alla familia (where the chef sends out multiple plates to share) and let the kitchen decide what to make us. Needless to say we ate fantastic course after fantastic course for about 3 hours and ended with the osso bucco which was unreal and even though we were stuffed to capacity, we managed to squeeze it in. We also had veal scallopini with tuna sauce, an unreal veal ravioli with demi glace, risotto with white asparagus and black sablefish...and others which I can't recall. And, the desserts were mouth watering and so fresh thanks to their terrific pasty chef. Long story short, make a reservation early in the night and plan to stay and eat for a while.
