Khunnai Chang offers authentic Thai food. Eat in or take out.
Very impressed with this place. I have recommended Chada Thai (Coquitlam) for great Thai food, but Khunnai is much better and way cheaper!
Have both dined in and ordered take out several times, and food has been consistently great. None of that ketchup-y garbage some other Thai places serve. Great spring rolls and Pad thai. The owner is a personable lady from Thailand. Very small place but she does the best with it and it is clean, decorated and usually busy.
I can't say enough about this place. Plane and simple it's amazing! Other restaurants could take some lesson from the owners. They are personable, offer great service and apparently it rubs off, their wait staff always offer great service as well. The place is also impeccably clean which is always a good sign.
The lunch specials are an amazing value, great tasting, authentic, comes fast, steaming hot and is served with Tom Yum and a fresh spring roll.
Gotta go get me some.
Ive eaten here on numerous occasions. The pad thai isnt great but the rest of the food is quite good including the green and red curries. The staff are really friendly as well. The food is better than the thai chains in vancouver and its a small restaurant that is actually owned by a thai woman so its nice to spend your money there rather than a chain.
This little restaurant on Denman has delicious, homestyle Thai cuisine. Try the vegetable stir-fry with deep-fried tofu, it's out of this world. We have eaten here a dozen or more times, and I really have no idea where some of these reviews are coming from. The food is NOT greasy. I suspect some of the folks who didn't care for it have only eaten Canadian Thai food. Time to venture off the lunch-special menu, folks! Prices are more than reasonable, and service is attentive without being pushy. Granted, the decor is nothing fancy, but the place is clean so who really cares....
Not sure why there have been so many positive reviews about this place. Its a smaller joint on Denman street that offers the all the regular basic Thai dishes. Spring rolls were decent but their curry was too watered down with no flavour and entrees seemed to be too salty with too much fish sauce. Unfortunately the attitude of their servers are just as bad and arrognant. Will not repeat.
I`ve been to Thailand many times. I think this restaurant has got to have as close to the original flavour as you can get here in Vancouver. They don`t try and change things to make the food bland. Some of the other Thai restaurants even mix ketchup in the pad thai. I`ve eaten there many times. The food is always fresh and delicious.
I had kaeng matsaman (curry) the other night. Perfect. Medium spicy.
Very clean restaurant. The prices seem on par with others.
The people who work there are very helpful and friendly.
I`m going to eventually work my way through the whole menu.
This place just had its grand opening recently. Got takeout for the first time yesterday and it was the best Thai curry I've ever had. I can only assume the whole menu is as good. I plan on eating here regularly. The service was great though we only got takeout, but I got the feeling you would be well taken care of as a sit-down customer.
A little pricier than I'm used to for Thai but well worth it. I got dinner and leftover lunch out of it but my husband polished his off in one sitting. We got the Gaeng Keo Wan (Green curry with chicken, thai basil and vaggies) and Gaeng Panang Gui (Panang curry with beef & veggies), and both were unbelievably good. We asked for extra veggies and they were more than happy to accommodate.
I've eaten at many different Thai restaurants and am a big Thai cuisine fan, and this is by far the best Thai food I've ever had. Don't be put off if the restaurant is empty. A place like this will do a lot of its business as takeout.
