Surprisingly Great

We stumbled in here after trying to go for Greek food across the street. The ambiance was nice inside although a little white and bright for my liking. I could have done without the radio as well, maybe some Japanese music would be better or at least something without commercials.

They put us in the back at their large booth and it was nice and comfortable for five people. We ordered a jug of Sapporo for 11 or 12 dollars which is a great deal. However, it turned out their tap was out so they gave us 5 bottles (small) for the same price which was great.

We ordered a variety of different dishes including rolls, cones, some hot items; they were all reasonably priced and very tasty. In the end, the bill was under a $100 which included 3 rounds of Sapporo so it was quite a good deal. I will return when I am in the area and want some quality, reasonably priced sushi.

Been there three times since they opened up earlier this year. They took over the old Rasputin Russian restaurant, and did quite a good job remodelling. Nice eye candy on the waitresses too.

I always go for the bento boxes. You get either salmon chicken or beef. The salmon used to be a good sized chunk, now it is two pan fried sashimi-like pieces. Nevertheless, you get a soup with it and a good amount of tempura and I believe, two prawn tempura is included. Always busy at lunch time.

Vancouver style sushi restaurant. The only difference is it's done well, very well. They're not recreating the sushi world or trying to be super authentic. However it's the one place that doesn't disappoint me in any aspect of my experience.
Service is attentive and friendly but leaving me comfortable to enjoy my meal. Waitresses communicate very well.
Their specialty rolls seem to standout the most. They're all different, but amazingly, if you had them all on the table, which we did, the flavors flow very well from one to the other. All the flavors are very fresh and appetizing.
Nigiri sushi here is great. Ikura with a good portion of roe, not all rice like some places. They also use the non colored tobiko which i prefer. The fish is all very fresh, and good cuts. Ama ebi has three shrimp. Uni arrives in one piece(not mush) and tastes fresh. They have wild salmon too.
Food arrives hots and in reasonable time.
The main thing here is great quality. The quality of their food is on par with higher end restaurants. The surprise is in the price. The price is similar to takeout restaurants around town. Loved it.

I noticed this place got some pretty good reviews, and since I'm always on the lookout for a good sushi place decided to give it a go tonight. I'd say the value is great-- my boyfriend and I ordered a dinner bento box (chicken teriyaki, salad, tempura, 5 pc sashimi, miso soup) and 1 california roll and 1 dynamite roll. We were both stuffed and we're pretty big eaters. The bill only came out to about $19 dollars(not including tip). The cali roll is one of the better ones I've had, dynamite roll was not AS good but still OK. Chicken teriyaki needed a little more sauce but that was quickly resolved. Tempura was nice and crisp, not as good as others I've had, but still ok. It was an enjoyable meal overall.

Wait staff is very friendly, no complaints there.

My only complaint would be the TV didn't do anything for the ambiance (Seinfeld at a restaurant?) and the music wasn't too great (mostly rap/hip hop).

But if you're in the mood for some decent-good sushi at a cheap price this is it!
