I have been eating at Jun's once a week since years and continually enjoy his quality of sushi and easy going demeanor. A recent upgrade to the interior makes dining in more enjoyable though I still go with his take away on a regular basis.
Great tuna takaki ,agadashi tofu, and excellent rolls across the board..I skip the gomae because of the small portion but otherwise it's a sure bet for great wild sushi.Enjoy!
Craving a sushi fix, I swung by Jun for some take-out (my second visit ever). There is a large pictorial of sushi and meal combos on the wall which is very helpful in ordering. I settled on a lunch combo which included 3 pieces california roll, chicken teriyaki on rice, tempura, and a salad. All for only $4.95. I was blown away at the amount of food at this price. The salad is measly and not worth eating, but the rest of the meal was very decent. Will definitely return for more sushi, as they serve wild sockeye salmon, not farmed.
went here randomly. was drawn in by the cheap prices. pleasantly discovered that the salmon is wild, not coloured, farmed stuff. good, solid sushi. didn't have to ask for tea, was automatic, unlike that much busier, and nastier kitsilano sushi (see my other review). and cheaper than that other place too.
only thing to watch out for is ordering over the phone by credit card. the guy repeats everything really loud for everybody in the restaurant to hear.
